945 Latest Firmware Bugs, Issues and Missing Features

I made this thread because I thought it'd be useful to consolidate all problems that users have with the latest firmware on FR945 as well as features that we would like to see brought back from older models, like FR935 and Fenix 5+.

I will try to update the first post if the problems are solved or missing features added. Please report all firmware issues you encounter.

Also, I hope Former Member and other forum members from Garmin will read this thread and help as to improve our watch.

  • If you disable the lap key (so only use autolap), then the back button gets you back to the watch face. I only use autolap so works for me but I can see it is not ideal for everyone.

    935 DOES have hot keys

  • Altimeter graph is reset sometimes, but not every day

This seems to be fixed in 2.50, it did not occur to me since them...

  • I have found a bug configurating "auto climb" in the cycling activity: turn auto climb on, go to climb screen, select data screen (distance, time, speed) and the 945 crashes.

  • 1. Weather - wind speed often 236 km/h (in both 2.4 and 2.5) - only 1:20 times show the RIGHT windspeed.

    2. No connection to external sensors when starting an activity - I get this often - might be in conjunction with Stryd. Only way to get it working is reboot watch. It is all sensors that won’t connect - Stryd, Garmin HRM Run, Tempe.

    3. Watch often loose connection to iOS Connect app - have to force close iOS app to re-establish connection

  • Next one -

Non-Linear battery percentage measurement. The battery % is not calibrated very well. If I charge to full - the first 5-18 hours report 0.215% / hour - after which battery consumption measurement slowly increases until in my configuration it reaches about 0.550% /hour. Close to 20% and below reported battery consumption climbs to 0.650%+ / hour.

So it needs a bit of work. It is not a catastrophe but just a bit annoying.

So this morning Battery Widget reports 19.2d remaining with 7h done since charging. That would be lovely though.

  • Not really a bug, but I'm pretty disappointed that there's now way to calibrate the altimeter using a local altimeter setting like my previous watch (Fenix 2) had.

  • Hello,

I can confirm the connection loosing on ios. I never had that isssue with 645. But had same issue with vivoactive3 music. Annoying.

    1. Using the hr-run and music at The same time give me Bad metrics on direct watch Reading but good at the recorded Garmin connect results. Seems to be a problem of workflow for the processor .. to much data
