The Fenix 6 received a "Backcountry Ski" activity added in their latest update. Is there any plan to have this made available on the 945? I'm getting by with a custom multi-sport activity, but would love if this was a native app on the 945.

If you can find a Fenix 6 owner with that app, you *may* be able to transplant it. (it'll be in the "Sports" folder and have a ".fit" extension) I've managed to do this with "Walk Indoor", moving the sport profile from a Forerunner 245 to a 945.
FWIW, I have a Fenix on order - if/when I get it, I'll upload the profile and you can try it.
In a Reddit post about it, someone mentioned the profile will correctly save the activity in Garmin Connect as "Backcountry Skiing" and they describe some of the behavior. (ascent, descent - it's classified as "ski-mountaineering")
Hello, have you received your watch?
He posted the file in the Fenix 6 forum and you can get it there.
many thanks!
I never thought it could be done
so it means that we could export any sport profile into any other fr device??
This doesn't work! I just tried it with my Forerunner 945 and while the name says Backcountry Skiing, it's the symbol and the functionality of the regular skiing app. I think the .fit app is only a frontend thing, the Forerunner 945 simply doesn't have Backcountry Skiing in the backend :-(
