Mushy/sticky buttons

Trying to get a feel from others if the buttons on their 945 are as bad as mine are. The UP/DOWN buttons in particular seem to get stuck and, while they work, they don't fully actuate with the normal 'click'.

    Got a VA 3 (against my druthers) for my year old daughter last October.

    Not noticed any button issues with my 935 in 2 years. The 945 obviously early days but no issues either so far.

    I'm with you on this Tim; Louise too. Granted they are not as positive as other watches in our stable, but that's the nature of the build. They've never failed to work.

    Sorry. 'Typo' is my middle-name. This was for 18-year old. But, I start them young. My 12-year old had an Ionic till the novelty wore off. Thanks. 18-year old started off, 2-year earlier, with a VA HR.

    Update, I went ahead and exchanged the watch for a new 945. The new one is fine. Both the UP and DOWN buttons pop back out and have the normal click. All is well again.

    Good move, at that price (really any price) the product should function well.

    My 945 buttons are not great. Although they do work, the first use gets a nice "Click" and any subsequent uses within a second or 2 gets a "mushy" feel.
    I had the 935 from Launch day and they it's buttons were good had a nice "click" for about 6 months then went soft. The replacement 935 a year later was much better and stayed "clicky" for a year up until i sold it.
    The 945 is not great from day zero which is a shame, similar issues to JensenB9, Light button is ok, up/down is not.

    On my 945 it feels like there are 2 positions on each button - light press doesn't press the button but there's a small tactile response push harder and it fully depresses. Once it is fully pressed and I release it I can feel the two positions. Actually sometimes the button seems to work even when lightly pressing to the first position?! Is this the mushy feeling that people are describing?

    We have escalated this issue to our engineers but we need any user experiencing this to reach out to our Product Support team directly. This can be done via support.garmin.com. We will gladly work with you to get a replacement as soon as possible, but we need to evaluate any devices showing this symptom directly, and this cannot be achieved through our forums.

    speculating : possible cause

    "aggressive sealing" loosens up over time
    "in case pressure"
    "not the same as with my Fenix 5+ but that's expected"
    "misaligned assembly"



    update 3 : eight hours later
    some change
    up button also behaves like a button

    update 2 : two hours later
    out of the cup all buttons functioned like I suspect they should
    dried and back on wrist....nada
    only back button behaves like a button
    back in the cup overnight

    update 1 :
    watch is being submerged in a cup filled with body temp water and a mild detergent
    after an hour seems less sticky
    sure hope this gets resolved this way :o

    ok : as in ok
    sticky : as in gets stuck after pressing loosing their springiness
    no click : as in ok but no feedback
    soft : as in ok but no click

    Woow nice work :)

    Mine back button is also mushy dont clicks. After a few times it feels good and it clicks.

    Was about to order my 945 from Wiggle UK, now not so sure what to do. Sounds like most are having issues.
