A $600 watch should have buttons that respond in a way in which the user can tell that the press was registered, whatever that means. In this particular case, if I'm running and press the lap key, I shouldn…

7 Days Later on Retailer Replaced Unit
Button Summary: Still good/ok, but definitely minor sticking on first/second press after as little as 30 minutes of not pressing
Details:
Use: Wearing to work, on weekend, Activities: 2 Runs (8 miles)
Weather: 60-70s Humid (Humidity increased this weekend)
Status: Probably No Change (G,G,G,G,G), Buttons All Good/ok, but definitely minor sticking on initial press after as little as 30 minutes (buttons do actuate though, but do not necessarily click, ... same as out of box). Back button is usually the worst offender with this.
Maybe started having issue with (most used) down button, I perceived it did not click like normal during heavy use. Clicking is back now, though.
At this point I plan on keeping this unit. It's way better than my original (Where buttons were just stuck). My original unit was unusable unless I had Key Vibe on (which I found annoying during casual use). With that said, the initial press sticky button issue has me reconsidering keeping the replacement.
Same for me, replaced 945 at the retailer. First unit was unusable. Second unit is almost OK except the UP button, after few minutes the first/second button press on UP is sticky then i can feel the click. I'm undecided to replace it again or not, I can reaceive a third 945 worse then this. Very disappointed.
I've a "double click" feeling pressing the up and down buttons; while the first click does nothing, pressing a bit more there's the second click that makes the action. Not sure this is how the buttons are supposed to work. My previous 935 has no click at all! Not sure which I prefer tho...either the double click of 945 or the "no click" of the 935...
Received answer from Garmin support in Germany.
Buttons on the left side had no tactile response, no click just like squeezing a rubber duck.
According to them "this is as designed and expected to not press them accidently". They "hope that feel for me will change over time from feeling unfavorable to a positive one wrt. to aforementioned aspect" (freely translated)
Glad that I had to send mine in to the retailer because of cracks on the OHR resin - after 3 weeks of wearing.
