Hi,
My Fenix discharges very quickly. 20% per day without GPS workouts and without AOD. That's relatively high compared to my Epix 47mm.
Does anyone else have the same problem?
I hope that this will be fixed with the next firmware update.

Our engineers are still investigating battery drain concerns associated with the Fenix 8. They would like to point out many things that are expected to increase battery drain beyond the estimated days…
Update September 25, 2024:
Our engineers have discovered an issue that was causing incident detection to remain after, after being used in an activity. This was causing a significant increase in the battery…
Hi Laurie,
Already shared these informations with you weeks ago, enabled logging, still no reliable fix on Garmin's end. Should we trust the brand at all?
I understand the items list you have above…
Same problem here, with fenix 8 51mm amoled.
PulsOxy Setting -> manuel
AOD off
Gesture Mode on with 4Sec
No GPS activities etc.
Display Off overnight / Red Shift on Touch
Bluetooth Connection to iPhone
Issue…
Yes, the battery drains even when not wearing the watch.
Anyway, some of these tips are ridiculous:
Turn on the battery saver feature from the controls menu (Controls). I dont buy the watch to be in battery…
Hi. Have you connected a bluetooth device to your watch? Like a hr strap from coros or headphones?
Yes, I have Garmin HRM and Stryd Power Foot Pod.
try a hard reset. hold down the left upper button for 1 minute and then turn on the watch normally.
Fenix 8 47 amoled here, v11.89, AOD OFF, gesture on, oxymeter on demand, temporisation 8 seconds, 45 mins sport per day, no music, default watch face, loosing 30%/day since last « update » vs max 10% before. Lost the favourite activities since last update also.
Worst Garmin experience so far, so I turned from an advocate to a detractor since I got the watch considering the absolute bullsh*t Garmin is putting us through.
considering the time I spent setting up my activities / screens / pairings / Garmin pay / etc factory reset is OUT OF THE QUESTION.
As autonomy announced is marketing material I will request a full refund if not fixed for good very soon.
I agree with you. I paid 1100 dollars for this experience which is BS. I came from a Amazfit watch and although not perfect it was a more seamless experience then what I am getting with the Fenix 8 at 1/4 the cost too.
For those of you still have concerns with battery drain, I am still reaching out to you individually via Private Message to collect details of your experience, so I can get this reported to our engineers. As they are actively investigating reports of rapid battery drain, I will continue to update you with any solutions, as they are made available.
Hello, I am also still having this problem with my Garmin Fenix 8 47m
That's great Laurie :-). Im just wondering if the problem can be caused because we connect bluetooth devices to the F8. Like a HR monitor etc. Hope you fix it soon :-)
Hello, Laurie, I confirm the massive battery drain: in just 2 days, with watch-only mode, the battery drained from 100% to 30%.". I hope for a fix soon..
Hi Laurie - I updated to the latest version (11.89) but continue to have the issue. Ca. 20% of battery goes in a day, if I do an activity, it drains even faster… Is there another fix underway, please? Thank you. Christian
