BUG in the HR sport zones "running"

Hello all, im observing a bug each time the watch detects a new value of maxHR or new threshold, the % changes to values that are not the standard and right ones, so i need to take a look each time a new update in maxHR or threshold to see if there is a mess with this and so i needed to reset to defaults the zones to normal value, doesnt happened in earlier firmwares, im in 21.39, reseted to defaults a few weeks ago because of lowering of VO2Max and HRV by the face... so in this release are some bugs there..

Intermittent Button Failure on Fenix 8 AMOLED 51mm After Installing Third-Party Watch Face

Hello Garmin Support,

I am writing to report an issue with my Fenix 8 AMOLED 51mm.

Since installing a third-party watch face via the Connect IQ store, all five buttons on my device have been experiencing intermittent failure—they either all work or all fail simultaneously.

After deleting the watch face, the malfunction seems to be temporarily relieved, but it is not resolved.

I have attempted to fix this by performing a factory reset and reinstalling the firmware multiple times (using the "light button push" method 8 times), but nothing has worked.

I suspect that the watch face has left residual system files or made changes to protected system partitions that cannot be removed through standard user operations. Could you please advise on how to perform a deeper system wipe or investigate this further?

BTW, 'calibrate button' can only relieve this malfunction.

Fenix 8 - 51 mm AMOLED v21.39: bad routing with Outdoor Maps+

In order to solve the "Route calculation error. Missing routable roads in this area." bad end of routing with TopoActive maps I tried the navigation with Garmin Outdor Maps+ in a Mountaineering activity as indicated in the following picture.

Being myself phisically positioned on the BLUE trail the routing calculation ended without errors like "Route calculation error. Missing routable roads in this area.", but it EXCLUDED the said trail considering only the BLACK one, keeping me astonished.

After some attempts by setting to off every avoidance, I obtained the same results discovering that BLUE and RED trails belong to "Ride trails" map layer, so my question is: what's wrong with routing? A trail is a trail!

Can I fix it by map and routing configuration settings in order to appreciate the expected value of my expense on these maps?

Deezer login via GCM always fails

After the 21.39 update, I can no longer log into Deezer on my F8 Solar (51mm). I can't say whether it's due to the 21.39 update (it doesn't work with the 22.XX beta either) or the recent update of the Deezer app to 2026.2.69 or... Whenever I try to log into the app on the watch via Garmin Connect Mobile, it tells me my password is wrong. However, the password still works perfectly fine for my iPhone and iPad. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I've reinstalled the app, restarted the watch, etc., and even changed the password. No luck. Is it only me? Thanks.

I am a long-time Garmin user (currently Fenix 5, considering Fenix 8) and I would like to request Google Maps turn-by-turn navigation mirroring for iPhone users — a feature currently limited to Android.

My use case: I ride a scooter in Bangkok and need a quick, hands-free way to check upcoming directions. Pulling out my phone while riding is both impractical and unsafe. Glancing at my wrist is the perfect solution — but only if Google Maps can mirror to the watch from an iPhone.

This is not an edge case. A significant portion of Garmin's user base pairs their watch with an iPhone, and the lack of Google Maps support is a genuine competitive disadvantage — especially as Apple Watch already offers this functionality natively.

I also want to highlight a relevant regulatory development: the EU's Digital Markets Act (DMA) is already forcing Apple to open iOS to deeper third-party wearable integration, as seen in iOS 26.3. This creates a real technical opportunity for Garmin and Google to bring Maps support to iPhone users — an opportunity that did not exist until recently.

I encourage Garmin to work with Google to prioritize an iOS-compatible version of the Google Maps Connect IQ app. The regulatory environment is moving in the right direction, and user demand is clearly there.

ETA / ETE / Estimated Finish Time issue on Fenix 8 51mm Amoled

I'm having an issue with my 51mm Amoled where it will flip between showing data to the end of the plotted route and then sometimes show it to the next waypoint instead on my data screens. I've spoken to Garmin and they've confirmed I have the right data fields, and don't have an explanation for it. They thought it was something to do with plotting a route in 3rd party software, but I've plotted a route to follow in Connect and it still does it. I had two hypotheses - it has something to do with proximity to the next waypoint, or alternatively it is something to do with the pace I'm moving at, but neither of these seem to bear true all the time. Is this a known issue and is there anything you can do to solve it?

Garmin TopoActive map for South Asia

Hi,

In the past 6 months or so, I had downloaded TopoActive map for South Asia.

On the watch it is still installed, however, I cannot find it anymore on Garmin website.

The version that I have is 2023.30 and the only option I see is Remove.

For TopoActive Europe, I see the map and the option to View details, in addition to the option to remove the map.

Is TopoActive map for South Asia no longer offered?

Button Recalibration after each update

In the last six months, every time Garmin issues an update (which auto installs on my 47mm Fenix 8 pro amoled), I have to run the "KEY_CALIBRATION.BIN" process to get my buttons to work properly. Everything goes back to normal button function until the next update. Anyone else experiencing this?

Planned Workout not merging on the Calendar

Hello there,

I have an issue. I just bought a Garmin Venu 4.

On my calendar I have both Garmin Coach workouts but also planned workouts that Garmin offers in the Workouts -> Find a Workout section.

I can select the planned workout from my Garmin and make it start, it gives me all the steps but once I save it, I just see my workout separated from the planned, but shouldn't it be completed or something? Same with the Pilates workout I did on 18th of April.

PS: Yes I am recording a Treadmill workout instead of Run, but I also tried with the Run and it wasn't any different.

What's the point of a planned workout if when I complete it I just see 2 different things? Is it normal? Can someone help since it's very frustrating?

F8 update with CT1

Hi, I noted the following Beta firmware 22.23 update:

The most notable functional addition in this build is the expanded hardware support for golfers. Users can now pair their watches with Approach CT1 club sensors, allowing for automated shot tracking and deeper post-round analysis.

Does this mean we do not need to tap the CT1 sensors to the F8 and it would detect the club automatically? Or do we still need to tap the sensor ? I wasn’t sure what functionality was being added with the latest beta update.

Fenix 8 Pro 51MM screen crashing?

Does the screen wig out (visually unreadable) on anyone else weekly or so. It doesn't matter if I have screen always on or not. It has happened twice when the watch goes from a sleep state to "bright" or on, and once during a recent activity. When this happened during a workout, I have at least memorized where to stop, and how to save the activity before I have to hold the top left button to power off/reboot...

New to Garmin and not appreciating the screen scram when using it for an activity. The watch is on 21.39 software.

Anyone have similar experiences or suggestions (I do have screen disabled during activities).

Weird heart rate readings when using HRM Pro Plus and HRM 600

I was having weird heart rate readings when using HRM Pro Plus and HRM 600 in the latest firmware so I downgraded to 23.18 and its been great.

Fenix 8 suggested workouts other than running

I managed to disable the running suggestion but i can't figure out how to get suggestions for the other (favorite) workout types, like pool swimming, walking, outdoor bike or (custom/other) sauna

How can this be done? Goal is to get a suggestion of "recommended workout today 1000m swim" or "5km bike", or "10min of wet sauna" etc...

Very high heart rate while doing 3km run

Fenix 8 Pro - crash during music

When preparing to start a run I connect my headphones and start playing music. Once the GPS is acquired , the beep causes the music to stop and it won’t restart without disconnecting and connecting headphones. The headphone menu becomes extremely slow or completely freezes the watch. This morning when trying to disconnect and reconnect the headphones, I got the blue triangle and the watch rebooted.

Fenix 8 Pro Battery Draining Fast

I have the Fenix 8 Pro 47mm. I have had the watch for 5 days fully charged it when I got it and it is already at 43%. I have no clue why the battery is draining this fast. I do not have always on display activated or LTE yet. I have only recorded maybe around 5 activities totaling 5 hours. I have connected the watch and tried to update it to the most current software on Garmin expreess.If anyone has any insight please let me know.

Bug Report: Screen Doesn't Adapt to Light After Being Covered; Only Recovers After Scrolling

I discovered another bug after System Software 21.39. When the watch is under clothing or covered, randomly when I take it out into daylight or sunlight, it no longer adapts to the imposed conditions. It only fixes itself if I scroll down on the screen to reach somewhere, then it recovers and doesn't do this for a period of time. Unfortunately, it's quite difficult to capture this bug on video, and it should be resolved urgently through a bug fix. I mention that it's random—I've tried giving it a hard reset several times, but the problem returns.

Fenix 8 native vs CIQ vs AllStars faces

So faces....native i understand are the most efficient, CIQ are hit and miss, but i wonder how are Garmin's own CIQ faces they sell under All Stars label?
Are they as bad as any CIQ face or shall we assume they're optimized properly and are close to native ones?

Hey,

After version 21.39, I’ve noticed twice that the compass gets stuck pointing north.

The only way to fix it is to restart the watch, which is very annoying.

Rash from strap

Is anyone else getting a rash from the stock fenix 8 strap? I’ve tried using alcohol wipes, cleaning with soap+water, etc., but anytime I wear it for more than a few hours my wrist starts to get irritated and a rash forms. I typically have to stop wearing it for several days to let my wrist heal, which is annoying.

Yardages are WAY OFF?

I will be blunt, I am a bit disappointed with the yardages I am getting from Fenix 8. On any given round I would say maybe 1 or 2 holes the watch is giving me yardages that are close enough to what I am getting with my rangefinder...BUT the rest of the holes are considerably off. Example: I will laser 145 to a back pin and my watch is giving me 115 Front / 122 Middle / 135 Back....or similarly for a front pin I will laser 97 and my watch is 105 Front / 117 Middle / 127 Back.

In either case it is routinely at least one club off...which for me makes it pretty much unusable. I have tried recalibrating the compass and well as different GPS modes and the results are all the same?

Any suggestions?

Why doesn’t Garmin remember my last reps/weight for strength workouts?

I really like using Garmin for strength training, but there’s one thing that feels like a huge missing piece:

Garmin records my reps and weight for every exercise — but it doesn’t *use* that data the next time I do the same workout.

What I’d love:

- When I start a strength workout, show:

“Last time: 3×8 @ 80 kg”

- Or pre-fill reps/weight from my last session

- Or at least show previous values on the watch or in Garmin Connect during the workout

Progressive overload is the core of strength training, and right now Garmin makes it harder than it needs to be. I end up relying on Google Sheets or third‑party apps just to remember what I did last time.

Is this technically impossible, or just something Garmin hasn’t prioritized yet?

Is anyone else missing this?

Open water swim distance......no garmin update on algorithm

I had a small hope that this year’s Garmin updates might bring some improvement.

Unfortunately, that has not been the case—distance is still being underreported.

Quite disappointing.
