Hi,
My Fenix discharges very quickly. 20% per day without GPS workouts and without AOD. That's relatively high compared to my Epix 47mm.
Does anyone else have the same problem?
I hope that this will be fixed with the next firmware update.

Our engineers are still investigating battery drain concerns associated with the Fenix 8. They would like to point out many things that are expected to increase battery drain beyond the estimated days…
Update September 25, 2024:
Our engineers have discovered an issue that was causing incident detection to remain after, after being used in an activity. This was causing a significant increase in the battery…
Hi Laurie,
Already shared these informations with you weeks ago, enabled logging, still no reliable fix on Garmin's end. Should we trust the brand at all?
I understand the items list you have above…
Same problem here, with fenix 8 51mm amoled.
PulsOxy Setting -> manuel
AOD off
Gesture Mode on with 4Sec
No GPS activities etc.
Display Off overnight / Red Shift on Touch
Bluetooth Connection to iPhone
Issue…
Yes, the battery drains even when not wearing the watch.
Anyway, some of these tips are ridiculous:
Turn on the battery saver feature from the controls menu (Controls). I dont buy the watch to be in battery…
Did you try to disable the autodiscovery option?
I have enabled logging for an exact investigation of what is causing the draining battery. Will let you know in the thread once I will have some verified information.

So when you are measuring your battery drain, be sure to take these items into account. If you are seeing a rapid drain, please feel free to reach out to me via Private message so I can collect some details.
The only thing that seems to increase my battery drain is after an activity.
I have no sensors,no yoga and gesture is off,I do have pulse ox on at night but I also had that with my Tactix 7 and had no problem.
Satellite is set to auto.
I am still waiting for you reply. I've sent the information, the files etc. But nothing happened yet.
based on the battery widget I have currently 1.65%/h remaining 2.5 day. I will try to do a run workout tomorrow. There must be a software bug because on Forerunner I had the same sensor attached and no issues.
Hi Laurie,
I ran the updates which seems to have solved my battery issues, but now I've lost notifications for calls, wth no changes to settings or permissions??
Hi Laurie,

I understand the items list you have above, but you also need to convey to the engineering team that a lot of people complaining are not doing anything drastically different than on their previous models. Me, for instance, had the previous gen of Epix Pro Gen2 47mm with all the exact same settings, sensors / devices paired and use of the watch. The battery life is AT LEAST 30% inferior to this previous yet very comparable model without any change in the use cases.
There IS AN ISSUE that is SPECIFIC to the Fenix8 lineup and that is causing in all cases a faster battery drain than previous comparable devices with same settings and in some cases a stupid <5days battery drain.
This is hurting a lot of your premium user base and the brand's reputation.
Considering how long, how consistently and how massively this issue has being reported, I'm started to wonder if Garminis in a position to deliver on the automony marketing/advertising claims that in part made us buy it.
Either it's fixable by software so please please please escalate, or it's not and I will be a part of any class action so I can get my money back and else based on false claims / advertising.
Very well written,I am.of the same opinion.
