Battery drain after update to 8.10?

Do you have any experiences with the same after update to 8.10? With 6.10 everything was OK.

  • I'm still waiting Garmin fenix 6 battery drain << Reference ID: 16275552K1 >> <Q#:1006206> 9 April 2020.

I sent my watch to Garmin service and in 20 days I got new watch. No problem since. My battery drain was 80% a day.

  • I will visit the support center tomorrow I hope they will replace it. Also I have problem with HR which is wrong for walking/resting by a lot. For sports I don't care because I use a strap. When I have 50-60 bpm the watch shows 100+

  • Went through Garmin support here, which was great and ticket was taken/ investigated. Sent all data long time ago, but no answer then, just recommendation for exchanging watch. My local Garmin sent me new ones after 2 weeks and I'm happy. Suffering is over, 0,1% per hour instead of 3%.

I guess that's what I need to do. I was hoping to avoid having to send it in because it'll be annoying to be without the watch for 2 week but it doesn't look like there's a choice here, they really don't seem to be able to fix this with a software update, which is pretty surprising.

In case is anyone is wondering, they can also ship a replacement immediately by placing a temporary charge on a credit card that is refunded once they receive the returned device, so you don't have to go without your watch while waiting for them the ship the replacement. Sounds like like a good option, so hopefully this will be resolved soon.

  • I do not think unfortunately if this is going to be applicable in all countries, based on general terms and conditions while claiming (definitely not in my country). Garmin needs to check first in service department and then considering replacement. Mine report from the service department was: Watch were repaired and got new ID/ Serial number. I got know about complete replacement for new watch already when I opened the box with brand new Solar.

  • Hello.
I'm a Marq user, but inside is Genix 6 pro. I have a similar problem with battery usage more or less since the firmware update to version 8.10.
In short, this can be described as a continuous additional power consumption. This is most clearly seen in "Battery Saver" mode, where I recorded a consumption of 12% per day, while with 48 days declared, it should be around 2%. I will immediately point out that I did the test after resetting the watch to factory settings with clearing user data (this removes CIQ applications).
I reported the fault to Garmin's service, a new watch arrived very quickly, which ... behaves the same.
In order to find the source of the problem, I installed the system software version 7.10, unfortunately no effect, i.e. the problem may be in the firmware of one of the components (GPS?), But unfortunately I can not downgrade the GPS firmware to e.g. 2.7 (after inserting the appropriate file into RemoteSW the watch deletes this file without doing anything).
Anyone have any idea how to make MARQ Expedition suitable for expeditions?

I have the same issue on my Fenix 6 Pro Solar after the firmware upgraded to 8.10.  Before the upgrade to 8.10, I recharged my watch once a week (when battery goes down for 50% with no activity made).  I'm also turned on the PULSE OX ACCLIMATION all the day, before the upgrade it took less then 10% battery per day.  The battery consumption which is similar to my Fenix 5 Plus and so far it is acceptable.

I observed that the battery dropped about 20% per day no matter I wear it or not.  In the meantime, I've done a test already to turn-off the Bluetooth on my watch and put it aside for few hours (4-5 hours).  The battery continue to drop for few %.  Based on this result, I believed that it is not related to the Bluetooth for connecting to my mobile.  It seems purely have issue on my watch.

I observed that the battery dropped about 25% per day no matter I wear it or not.  In the meantime, I've done a test already to turn-off the Bluetooth on my watch and put it aside for few hours (4-5 hours).  The battery continue to drop for few percents.  Based on this result, I believed that it is not related to the Bluetooth for connecting to my mobile.  It seems purely have issue on my watch.
