Battery drain after update to 8.10?
Do you have any experiences with the same after update to 8.10? With 6.10 everything was OK.

Hey guys, first I want to say Thank You to everyone for all of the extensive testing and troubleshooting you have done. I have been adding these details and they will be helpful in resolving this battery…
Hey guys, I have contacted several of you to gather information and get you added to the case. If there is anyone experiencing this issue that has not been contacted then please send me a private message…
Hey guys, I checked the 6 pro I have and the percentage drain per hour is usually around .3 if I haven't done anything except leave it on my wrist, that can vary though if the backlight has been on a lot…
Interesting. I asked because I have a 6s, and I have calculated I too drain about 0.3% per hour on average. This is for a much smaller watch, and battery too. So, I would have to assume that the "normal" drain rate for the larger "6" would be much better than this as a baseline?
I know there are a ton of variables.. mine is running stock watch face, 24/7 HR on. no pulse OX, just around the house etc.
In my case, the battery drain can be as normal, the full battery cycle was totally similar to one before. Last hour in smartwach (6X) mode is 0,1%/h. The battery time with one charge was 12 days smartwach mode and 19 hours of cycling track with 3 ant+ sensors.
Wow, that is something. I also suffer from increased battery drain since 8.10 got installed on 6x Sapphire (wifi+maps). I had 12-13 days with PulseOx always on with 6.10 (stock, bought the watches at the end of Jan 2020). Did full charge from 60-70% as I wanted to have latest maps. First night on 25th Apr it dropped to 50% and y’day after my mtb ride ( I use edge for any cycling) it dropped from 10 to 1% (1st May). Having read all the posts I will try to soft reset and do a full charge. Using 4 widgets (My week, Internal Tempe, Beer counter, Garmin Hydration Tracking) all updated to latest versions, one watchface DigitalForTactixD. I did not do any GPS activity, nor any indoor activity. All was ok before with 6.10.
I must tell I am unwilling to factory reset watch, try betas etc. especially considering the price of the watch. Placing beta on watch is another stage of possible problems especially when there is no real backup/restore. It would kill me downloading and setting up everything the way I want to.
while this post has been written, my battery chraged using an usb port on a laptop from 1% to 40% in about 47min, that was never so quick with 6.10. This leads me to ask: Are we sure that battery % being shown on the watch is accurate?
@Garmin-Nate: maybe that’s another room to look. ‘Cause I wonder how long my watch would actually go with that 1% being shown... please add me to the case. I can submit aby files if needed. I think my case should not be ruled out = do not ask me to delete everything and start from 0.
Thanks!
It took 2hrs20min to charge battery. Definitely quicker than on 6.10. I turned off PulseOx and after 3h10min watches still show 100% on watchface DigitalForTactixD. Looking onto widgets face 100%/29d.
Hello dzamilsvk, I have sent you a private message to work with you on this internally.
Hello all,
it is worth doing what I did or at least try as after full 24hrs now battery usage looks promising. Fenix 6x Sapphire, one topo map above the default ones.
On the last charge I turned PulseOx metering off, wore watch the whole day, in the evening I did 17min ride with gps/whr. And now after full 24hrs widget screen shows an estimate of 28days!!! Battery % 96 after 24hrs with PulseOx off. 4 widgets and one 1 watchface (plus default ones).
1) Let your watch come to 1% battery
2) power off using menu
3) do a full a charge (watch will auto power on upon charging)
4) test
I did not reinstall any watchface nor widget, all is like it was before at 6.10.
I have read at other forums, checking the status and complaints for beta versions that usually it helps to soft restart (power off and on) to eleviate possible issues, however might not help every issue.
I also hope that lots of people will be happy with upcomin’ 9.00 release !
After 52hrs battery level 90%, SpOx off.
I got the update to 9.0. Unfortunately that hasn't fixed the battery issue for me.
Same. Still high battery usage and resting HR totally wrong
Is there an update on this? It's been three months and my watch still can't make it through a day without charging.
