Battery drain after update to 8.10?
Do you have any experiences with the same after update to 8.10? With 6.10 everything was OK.

Hey guys, first I want to say Thank You to everyone for all of the extensive testing and troubleshooting you have done. I have been adding these details and they will be helpful in resolving this battery…
Hey guys, I have contacted several of you to gather information and get you added to the case. If there is anyone experiencing this issue that has not been contacted then please send me a private message…
Hey guys, I checked the 6 pro I have and the percentage drain per hour is usually around .3 if I haven't done anything except leave it on my wrist, that can vary though if the backlight has been on a lot…
At Nate's suggestion I've updated to 8.75 beta, but no luck... here is my last ~48 hours started with a full charge, and now I'm at 19%, so I have to charge to do my afternoon workout. :( No CIQ datafields, no navigation, etc... only one 8 box layout with stock Garmin datafields.
The results are the same... stable 12%/hour during activity no matter if it's indoor or outdoor, and GPS doesn't makes difference. Idle power usage is between 1-1,5%/hour.
Smartphones scaling CPU frequency to save power... I don't know if the watch has energy saver functions like smartphones, but it seems like my watch is on full throttle since firmware 8.10. Idle battery usage from 0,2% went up to 1-1,5% (7-8x) and workout battery usage went up to 1,5-2% (indoor) to 12% (6-7x)... like it's never switching back to idle state.
Idle settings:
Wrist HR: ON
PulseOX: OFF
Phone Connection: ON
Smart notifications: ON, but only e-mails and phonecalls (about 1-2 notification/hour)
Backlight: 20% only after sunset and only if I press a button.
Watchface: Stock Garmin analog watch face with only steps and today's date data.
No widgets, watchfaces or CIQ apps installed.

Hi Nate,
did a 1,5 hr trip with my F6xProSolar yesterday with fw 8.76. Device was on the bike mount in bright sunlight. Navigated to a saved navigation, no bt, no music, temperature sensor connected, no other sensors, gps only and the map page on the display for the whole ride. Got a battery consumption of 6,15%/hr. That is way too much. I know, that the map page is draining a lot of battery, but normally I got about 4%/hr.
Anyone explain this? 6 Pro 8.10, Battery at 96%. Went to sleep with watch on, Pulse Ox and Hr On. When I woke up 8hrs later Battery 65%!!!!! What in the hell is using that amount of battery whilst sleeping?
The only time I have seen a large overnight drain like that is when there is a software update of some kind that Garmin Connect on my phone was trying (maybe unsuccessfully) to push to the watch so the Bluetooth was active all night.
I am still having more drain than normal. I am getting up to 1%/hr in standard smartwatch mode with the standard Garmin watch face. OHR and VO2 measurements are on, but it used to be down to 0.3%/hr prior to 8.10.
Thanks ericgottlieb but iPhone was in Airplane mode. The only thing I did was to sync with Garmin connect earlier and download the map updates.
I meant Garmin Express sync
Which watch do you have, the 6s?
I have been posting similar issues. I have the 6X Pro and have had a significant increase in battery consumption while road riding. I have tried to isolate the issue but can't say that I have. For road cycling I always have map displayed and I follow a course. I always had the same GPS + Glonass, several ANT devices such as HRM, CAD, SP, Varia Radar and Display, no music, BT on. I went from around 4-5% per hour to about 9% per hour. I just don't know anymore if its 8.10, map update, ANT or BT update, etc. What I do know is when I run outdoors with GPS + Glonass and no ANT devices, no music, BT on I get about 3% an hour, just as good as its always been. Even when I Mtn bike, same GPS + Glonass, HRM, SPD sensor, I tried to follow map with Nav and that was also good at 4% an hour. So I am unsure anymore why my road cycling increased so dramatically. Btw, how do you extract battery info? Any special data fields on the watch? Is there an easy way to do so?
I have a 6 Pro Sapphire version. Standard consumption was around 0.3%/hr before.
