I cant update my garmin 255

My watch have the 13.23 version. How can i update?

  • Follow step by step. Step 2: you need sign in then see top right icon.  After picture 3 you turn back garmin express then click update you can download the newest version then sync with your watch to install. Try this and send me result bro. good luck

  • Nothing changed, still can't update past 13.23.

  • It did not help me :(

    I think it's a normal factory reset.

  • sorry to hear that. I tried my best to help you guys! Did you follow pic 1 or pic 2?

  • I might consider it when I am back from vacation.

It is beta/experimental software though. If something breaks Garmin won't take responsibility for it. It may even harm the warranty.

The last thing I want is to have my brand new Garmin stuck in a reboot loop or something because they can't deploy official updates and being hols accountable for it.

My watch is 1 day old. So it'd possible to return it if needed.

But thank you for this proposed solution.

  • Hello, I just received a brand new Garmin 255 Music this morning and it is stuck at 10.10 in Garmin Express... I've tried all the steps you suggested, but same result...

  • Really! I have never heard that brand new watch but use old software version before. You can still download apps on Connect IQ right? If not, you should return it and ask them why new watch was stuck at old version

  • It was a gift, I think it was bought from a reseller, not directly from the Garmin store, so maybe it was an old stock. But I've contacted the support anyway as I think it should still be able to update ^^

  • The restard method did nothing.
I don't want to install a beta firmware that is impossible to roll back on a brand new watch. I am pretty sure 3rd party seller won't take it back like this, and I am still considering this step.

  • I used to have a Vivoactive 4, and I remember some forum members always had older firmware because they had a different version of the watch, made for the Asian/Pacific market. Could it be something like that with the FR255 as well?
