I cant update my garmin 255

My watch have the 13.23 version. How can i update? 

  • I can understand that companies like Garmin can have technical difficulties, or even temporarily take down a software version from servers on purpose. But the strange thing is that they don't inform their customers about this issue. Surely thousands of watch owners are trying to update their watches, spending lots of time to troubleshoot what is clearly a known issue for Garmin.

    If you look at the top post on this forum, posted by Garmin, it says that firmware version 15.19 is available with 100 percent rollout. That is obviously not true. They even send us email to brag about new features in our watch, but it is not possible to install it.

    As I understand, the newest beta version had several bugs, but there should be no reason to block version 15.19. 

  • Totally agree with you. I tried to update my watch by joined beta program but it made my watch die. You can check my previous comments. Garmin supporter just show how to update on garmin's website. That is useless for me. 

  • Is your watch still bricked? I was tempted to try to beta update but you've got me nervous now ... I've also read once you've updated you can't roll back to previous firmware, is this the case?

  • While installing 15.19 to step "restarting" my watch suddenly shutdown, used master reset but can't turn on again. I think it was conflicted between 2 firmwares. I sent my watch to garmin to reinstall firmware. Don't know how long will it take! I will update status on here

  • In my case I subscribed to the beta as the support told me, but nothing happened Joy

  • Yesterday I bought a brand new "Forerunner 255 Music". I have the same problem... the watch is stuck at version 9.13.

    I tried updating via "Garmin Express", "Garmin Connect", via wi-fi (directly from the watch), but no luck.  Garmin Express keeps telling me that my current version (9.13) is the most current version, which is clearly incorrect.  Really disappointing.  I hope that Garmin will be able to fix this very quickly or I'll have to return my watch.

  • As most of you already know, we are aware that a number of X55 devices are unable to update. If a Product Support agent has not already added you to the report, please tag me with permission to reach out via email so you can be added. We hope to have a fix soon, but do not have a timeline for a release yet.
