I cant update my garmin 255

My watch have the 13.23 version. How can i update? 

  • Thank you for your feedback. I noticed something in the web client of Garmin Connect. When I click on my device (at the top right hand corner) it tells me "Software is up to date — Version 10.10". So I'm starting to worry the problem is not only with Garmin Express Sweat smile

  • This is my guess:

    They probably did disabled their update servers for 255 or at least disabled updates for now.

    All softwares (Garmin Connect, Garmin Express or the Webinterface) use the same server to acquire the information about the latest software verison. That's why there is no point in sending in the watch to Garmin besides them giving you a new watch already shipped with the newest version.

    I hope they work on it already.

    I want to know an opinion from you. Did anyone already try Spotify on it before? How is the quality? Is it the same quality as if I use my smartphone?

    • I tried Spotify on the 245 music and it worked perfect for me with my Sony earbuds. Same quality as connecting to my phone.
  • I think it equals the "low" quality on smart phones, which is a bit lower bitrate than "low" quality on a laptop. It is fine for workouts, but maybe not suitable for dedicated listening with HiFi equipment.

  • Just purchased this as my first fitness watch and cannot download any apps. Updated with Garmin express and i am on 13.23 version. Is there anyway to manually update? I also contacted their support I hope they fix this problem! 

  • Same for me. Received my fitness watch today with version 13.23 and cannot download or install any apps that depend on a newer firmware update. Tried to update the watch with CONNECT and EXPRESS application. Neither are able to identify a newer firmware update and tell me my watch is up to date with version 13.23.

  • Mine came in today and I have the same issue, stuck on 13.23. I called helpdesk and the guy said I need to enroll in the beta via garmin connect. I did, that was six hours ago but still no update.

  • I got my watch last week and I enrolled in the Beta program several days ago and still hasn't been updated. Resetting the watch now and then I'm going to re-enroll but it looks more and more like Garmin is selling a product that they know isn't working. They should stop selling it unless they fix this. Selling a product where they claim it has features that it doesn't is fraud.

  • I found a work around for installing apps on 13.23 version. It works for me and I was able to install Spotify, worth a try and no factory resets:

    Open connect IQ

    Select search

    Search Spotify, ( or the name of the app you are trying to install)

    Press the result and it lets me installl - that's it...

    Note: if you press IQ store next to search at bottom left of app and then select another app you don't have, it gives you that error message to update your FR with express. No idea why this is working but I am able to run Spotify on my watch now Grin

    I reckon the IQ app homepage is messed up !
