Battery drain after update to 8.10?

Battery drain after update to 8.10?

Do you have any experiences with the same after update to 8.10? With 6.10 everything was OK.

  • 3.5 hrs of mountain biking = 21% battery drain :(
SW 8.10, no CIQ apps/widgets/data fields

  • I've fully charged the watch 2020. april 10. 15:57 and 2x 75 min outdoor running and 1x 30 min treadmill running now im on 36%.
According to battery info widget since last charge 55.99%/day. Nice!

  • I checked the 6 pro I have and the percentage drain per hour is usually around .3

    Agree

  • Garmin told me, that they didn't receive any complaints about this battery drain issue on 8.10.

I have no problem with that either.

On saturday I connected to Garmin Express to download some new release of Europe Maps. Something was downloaded with the map and after this downloading the watch offered me again installation of 8.10, even if i had this version in watch. (saw info inside). I confirmed installation and it was made again.

after this the battery seems to be OK.

considering how many thousands of watches are sold, I think it is only a negligible part of the users who have a problem with it here. After all, not all f6 users are in the forum.

  • I checked the 6 pro I have and the percentage drain per hour is usually around .3

    Agree

But 0.3 is toooo bad. It should be 0.2 and less.

0.3 is for 14 days. It should be 21 days. Before update it was no problem 0.2 and less.

  • But 0.3 is toooo bad. It should be 0.2 and less.

What makes you think it should be? Because of 0.1 percent "more consumption" you say that the firmware is faulty?
How do you determine battery consumption? You still haven't answered that.
You're talking about the 21 days. Have you tried to USE the watch for 21 days?
Or is it a display that tells you how many days you "probably" can work. As I said, the "displayed" runtime changes itself if you change the display brightness in the settings. Even if you never use the backlight. even if you turn the seconds display on or off, you get much more deviation. Just one example of the fact that the displayed runtime cannot be calculated correctly. You have to try whether you really get the 21 days in reality or not.
Battery widgets can return incorrect values if there is an error in the widget's program code. But this is not a bug in the firmware and not a Garmin bug. How do you calculate the battery consumption?

  • You are wrong :

I haven't been able to reproduce it during activities or in smartwatch mode on 8.10 software.

I checked the 6 pro I have and the percentage drain per hour is usually around .3
I would say 0.3%/h means 330 hours of smartwatch mode, which is according to specs for f6 pro.
  • I would say 0.3%/h means 330 hours of smartwatch mode, which is according to specs for f6 pro. For f6x this value shall be 0.2%/h to tulfill the specs. In smartwach mode. However "smartwach mode" depends on how many alerts, and how many related actions are done. My f6x has an average 0.3%/h consumption in smartwach mode having an average 10 hour gps usage per week. The battery is charged every 12-13 days.

  • Why are you still disagree. Don't count with 0.2 or 0.3 .... No matter if someone has this and other has that.

The main problem is, that before update everything was OK and after update it is not Ok. If someone had before update 0.2, should have the same after update. If someone had before update 0.3, should have the same after update. If someone had before update 20 days, should have it after update the same 20 days. Not 14 or 10 .... still 20.

This is the think what is this whole issue about!

  • If someone had before update 20 days, should have it after update the same 20 days. Not 14 or 10 .... still 20.

I ask again: how or with what do YOU calculate the difference. And do you refer to the real runtime noted (counting the days of battery full to battery empty) or are they estimated values? When will you tell us?
