  • Made some improvements to the DogTracker widget.
  • Made several other bug fixes and code improvements.

We have temporarily removed in-activity data field editing in this beta. We have identified a few bugs and while they are difficult to reproduce, we do not want our customers to experience these issues. When these bugs are resolved, this feature will be added back in to software.

  • Mine is now at 5.75 beta. And bad . It was good till FW 3.10. my friends is still at FW 3.10

  • i never saw a 3.10. only 3.0 to 4.10.

  • Mine is at 3.00 and i cannot find a 3.10 firmware. if i upgrade it will take me to 5 and i do not want to take the risk.

  • Hi philip,

I wear an OH1 on my FormSwim Goggles that displays my heartrate in the google display.  I often look at my AW and compare, they are within 1 to 2 BPM almost all of the time.  I do intervals with my laps, so I get my heart rate up there pretty good.  I like to do 3000 to 5000 yards, so it's a nice long swim and I get a lot of good data.

Would be very cool if Garmin did something with their HR sensor for accuracy.  Maybe a different design.  Round like the AW, instead of a vertical stack of LED's, l don't know though as I am not an engineer.

I was really looking forward to seeing what they were up to with the 955 and sport  Disappointed

They did change from the 935/F5+ (three sensors I think, radially) to the current arrangement. For me the 935 didn't work whereas the current arrangement works better. No it isn't perfect all of the time but I do get pretty consistent results cycling and running. Swimming for me just doesn't work, but as noted it does for some. At the end of the day, if I really want reliable data I'll wear a strap.

And I would have kept the Apple Watch if the battery life when using GPS was any good. Certainly the OW swim tracks were better last year than the F5+ and 945. However, since Garmin has been working on the GPS, there is little difference now. And before anybody jumps in and tells me that I can't say that now I don't have an Apple Watch, I swim a marked 2km course from the shore down a line of buoys so it's easy to see when the track is crap and when it isn't even allowing for me going off course a little when sighting is  challenged by sea conditions.

  • I think what's being missed here is that big, heavy watch = bad OHR

In general I agree with you and I decided to use chest strap always during sport. But...

    I have 6S :) not that big

I think the problem is not only about dimension but about weight compared with bracelet width. In the Fenix 6S the bracelet is too narrow compared with the weight. The importance is to have the watch firm on wrist.

I suggested to try to use an elastic bracelet, for example, did you tried?

why did it work very well up to firmware 3.10, and then after update did the errors occur?

Because came autumn and then winter? The temperature affect a lot wrist HR.

I guess that Garmin Connect still wants consecutive minutes for the intensity minutes to count but how many

    I agree with @gaijin

But... about GPS accuracy your track is perfect!!!

Which is your secret? Could you share with us your settings?

  • Hello
I did several trail rides. Here are two comparison between the OHR of my fenix 6 sapphire and my polar H7 belt.
In orange it is the recording of the H7 polar belt and in blue the OHR of the fenix 6.

    Run 1

    Run 2

Except for the small difference the first 2 to 3 minutes and a passage on each run I find that the OHR sensor is still very precise. I'm really happy about it for me.

  • I have a nylon strap with velcro so it is perfect tightness. i also wear it a little higher on the forearm. i have 3.0 firmware and no issues really but it is true that 5.0 does not behave correctly. if it indeed does not affect everybody then it is hardware related. The weight of the 6S is the same as my polar vantage V and polar ohr is very good but it also uses 9 leds.
