I've done this with my f3hr for a long time with no side effects. I loosen the watch strap and wash my wrist underneath and then rinse. I now do this with my f6x Saphhire.
Do you do this? If not, why not?

Ok Everyone,
I have been trying to stay out of this thread since there so many great suggestions and I love seeing the forum community sharing ideas and helping one another but I need to jump in and ask…
I think your skin would break down long before the seals!
Absolutely no problem with replying to a five month old thread; that's preferable to starting a new one. However, any credibility you might have had from your experience with
numerous dive watches…
I thought it was weird that nowhere on Approach S60 packaging does it say ANYTHING about device being waterproof. But I believe it is.’ Showered with it today.
According to the Approach S60 specs:
Rating: 5 ATM Swim (Withstands pressures equivalent to a depth of 50 meters). Suitable for splashes, rain or snow, showering, swimming, diving into water, snorkeling
hi Guys, I had a problem the other day with my Fenix 5x having ghost / flickering images and the local distributer said it is because of showering with the watch. apparently the hot water i.e. steam can somehow penetrate the seals and cause damage? not sure how accurate his statement is? I had to replace my watch but none the less here is link to other forum discussion: (https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/fenix-5-series/129033/fenix-5---screen-flickering-issue)
I would suggest your local distributer is trying to shirk on their responsibilities to support you. Steam is just water vapour at a higher temperature. The seals on the watch will be able to tolerate much more than you or your skin can.
Thanks Chris, Yes I also suspect this about the distributer. My only worry is just I'm still not sure what caused my 5x to start having a flickering screen so that I don't get the same thing with the 6x.
