I've done this with my f3hr for a long time with no side effects. I loosen the watch strap and wash my wrist underneath and then rinse. I now do this with my f6x Saphhire.
Do you do this? If not, why not?

Ok Everyone,
I have been trying to stay out of this thread since there so many great suggestions and I love seeing the forum community sharing ideas and helping one another but I need to jump in and ask…
I think your skin would break down long before the seals!
Absolutely no problem with replying to a five month old thread; that's preferable to starting a new one. However, any credibility you might have had from your experience with
numerous…
NO! I also have numerous dive watches and G shock watches rated to depths far beyond the depth rating of my 6X solar. None should be worn in the shower!
Here's what Garmin says about their warranted watches:
Solution: Buy a forearm wound protector on Amazon and just slip it on every morning over your watch. Simple, easy and does the trick!
That sounds like a recipe for a disgusting stinky wrist. It's not hard to take the watch off, why in the world would you avoid washing part of your wrist forever to save those 2 or 3 seconds?
I keep the band a little snug. It is also stretchy and doesn't come off so easily. You may have a different band with your model. YOUR wrist my be stinky, but mine is nice and clean! So is my watch, so speak for yourself sir. Wash my hands numerous times a day and allow water to get under the watch and sometimes over it. This is not the same as shower washing due to the difference in water pressure.
When I used to wear Casio G-Shocks 24/7, the minerals in the water accumulated in edges and seams on the watch and caused white deposits which took effort to remove. Stopped showering with watches on after that.
For those doubting Thomases:
So you've resurrected a thread from 5 months ago but clearly didn't take the time to read the replies, in particular from Garmin. It might be a good idea to do so.
Actually I DID read the Garmin excerpt. Showering is listed with splashes as an acceptable activity. I think they may be wrong on this. Is there any rule against responding to a 5 month thread? I just received the watch this week.

was lost when you suggested
shower water hits the watch under pressure
Given that the depth rating of the F6 is 10 ATM (~140 psi) it's hard to believe that the water out of any shower is going to impact the watch anything like.
Good on you for replying to the existing thread but perhaps next time write something that is at least plausible.
I have for years, it keeps me from taking too much time in the shower.
I have done this for decades (well, the workout maybe not so regularly ) and my watches have always stayed pristine.
