Fenix 5 - Screen flickering issue

So there is already a thread for this on the Fenix 5x forum, but i noticed that my one week old Fenix 5 has this issue as well.
Its mostly noticable on background colors such as white, orange, etc.
To replicate this issue you can just open the HR widget and enter the "Last 7 days" screen where it has a white background. Backlight needs to be off in order to see it clearly.

Im on the 2.9 firmware version.

Anyone else having this issue?

Hello, mine too, i think all fenix 5(x) have this problem.
But only visible on white background, not a problem for me.

Had the same thing on my F630 and my F5... but i noticed this seems to be visible only in rooms and depend on the used light source within the room. When using energy-saving lamps its more visible as when using an old light bulb the screen isn't flickering as much as with energy-saving lamps...
Outdoors the flickering issue seems to be eliminated...

I returned my 5X for this problem, and new one has a flicker free screen, so not every units are affected

Ok, good to know - today i receive also a replacment of my F5 (RMA because of other problems) - i'll report about the screen...

So this means that its a hardware problem and all these devices that people are complaining about are defective?
How is it even possible that they passed quality control? I dont get it...

Hi all, I purchased my F5 about 12 days ago and only noticed the flickering when battery dropped to round 40%. Kept on digging a bit on the forums and found that this was addressed by unreleased beta firmware 3.42 (at least I cannot get it via Garmin Express).
Just updated to beta 4.02 and the issue appears to be gone. Need to drain the battery again and see it comes back again.

Please be warned that this is beta version and going back to public 3.30 will reset your settings.
Also Connect app won't recognise this version of firmware.
