Just a fun / alternative way to display your progress in steps taken towards your step goal. :)
  • Unfortunately no, it still just displays the "Digital" watch face even though I select "NoFrills". I tried reinstalling and restarting the watch with no luck. Forerunner 735xt with 4.05 beta firmware. Thanks.

Just some feedback on this issue. I have investigated last night and discovered a few issues introduced by Garmin.
I have reported this as the impact will be huge as it will affect many existing apps in the store. Lets hope they fix it soon!

In the meantime, if watch faces are important to you, you could always downgrade to the latest stable version that is provided in the beta zip file you downloaded.

I did check and uncheck the box in setting but the water gauge not showing up, my firmware is 3.20.

    Hi!

There was a brief moment yesterday with a buggy version of the watch face in the store. I fixed and updated a couple hours later.

Perhaps you were unlucky to have downloaded the buggy version.

Can you please check if Garmin Express or Connect app (whichever you use to install apps) shows that an update is available for NoFrills. If that is the case, then it will solve your problem.

Also make sure you restart your watch by switching off and back on again.
Another thing to check is that the progress color is different from the color of the time (hours) and minutes.

Let me know how it goes!

  • Not compatible with 4.05 beta for the 735XT

    Hello,
Any body know how to choose NoFrills with this beta version?
When i'm selecting this watch face, the default watch face appear.

    Regards.
  • Hi HermoT,

Only one question, I would like to hide icons as notification, alarm so I modified their colours to black because my watchface background is black.

would it drain F3 battery? or would be make a setting check to display or not notifications better?

    Thanks.

    Interesting question.
One could argue that it might have some gain in both performance and less battery consumption, but this would be so small than you wouldn't notice it at all.
The counter argument is that on the other side of the spectrum, it will have a negative impact on those users wanting to see all notifications. This would be the impact of having extra checks in code, but likewise too small to observe.

But what I can tell is that the more code that gets added, the larger the memory footprint becomes.

These are the 3 I try to keep in good balance:
    • Memory - more free resources in general is better
    • Performance - quicker navigation between screens and smoother experience
    • Battery consumption - keep as low as possible
