With introduction of Garmin Pay, I am starting to add a new payment option for some of my apps. The system is not flexible enough to just add Garmin Pay to existing apps, so I'll publish a copy of an app, with the same functionality but Garmin Pay as the payment provider.

The idea for this app is simple:
- Use only large fonts, so that all data are visible at a glance (hence the name of the app: Glance   )
- Put as much data on the screen as possible, without sacrificing font size above
- Make all data fields customizeable to your needs
- Make colors customizeable as much as possible, so users can create their own design

Paid versions are identical to the free version (so no worries, FREE doesn't mean bad!), but have a lot of extra features features:

    3rd party complications were added in the Glance Ultra version of the app. If you find the app that publishes the next tide event as a complication, it will work with Ultra.

    It is a notification count. You can review and delete the notifications in the Garmin Notifications widget on your watch. Some latest Garmin updates might also show the count of notifications from your phone that are not in the notifications widget - hopefully they will fix this bug at some point.

    On iPhone, here is how other users fixed the problem:
    - Open Notification Center.
    - Scroll to the bottom.
    - Tap Clear All Notifications.
    Even old notifications there will count toward the watch’s number.

    VO2max is added in the Glance Ultra and Glance Dual Screen versions of the app - give them a try!

  • Have used Big Easy for years and love it, just paid for Big Easy IQ, but an immediate deal breaker for me is the inability to display moon phase via the middle top bar. Requested a refund as soon as I noticed the very first setting in Big Easy IQ wouldn't let me use it like Big Easy, but will repurchase if updates are made so that the same data can be used in the same fields across both apps.

    Moon phase bar wasn't the most popular feature - it is confusing to some users. But thank you for bringing it up - I'll see if memory restrictions will allow to bring it back.

      - Install app/widget that publishes complications
      - In Glance Ultra, go to Watch Face/Customize menu on your watch. Select "Custom Complication".
      - In Glance Ultra settings, select metric "Custom COMPLICATION"

      That is all. This is a generic approach that will work with any 3rd party complication (like Dexcom). However, it means that there is no special treatment of the returned value - it will be shown as is. Sometimes developers return a long string with lots of encoded data - obviously it will not look good. Ask from developers of your favorite apps to add complications with easy to read data in a glanceable format.

    Did anyone have a chance to test 3rd party complications yet? Would you please publish your findings - what apps work well with Ultra, and what apps don't.

    I need a bit more information. What colors did you try, what do you see, maybe post a picture. It is easier if you use Contact Developer instead.

    Native Garmin Tide app doesn't publish complications, you would have to find another Tide app to use with Ultra.

    Thanks! Watching this thread, will repurchase Big Easy IQ when it allows the same data fields as original Big Easy.

    Moon bar is back (as well as a lot more features) in v 1.09 !
