With introduction of Garmin Pay, I am starting to add a new payment option for some of my apps. The system is not flexible enough to just add Garmin Pay to existing apps, so I'll publish a copy of an app, with the same functionality but Garmin Pay as the payment provider.

The first one out is Glance Ultra (a copy of Glance Dual Screen):

EASY Round

GLANCE WATCH FACE app won THE BEST NEW WATCH FACE APP OF 2022 ! At the Developers conference Garmin announced nominees and winners for the best apps in different categories. Glance Watch Face was nominated and won in the best new watch face category Slight smile! Garmin didn't post the video from the conference yet, but it was already reported by other websites: https://the5krunner.com/2022/10/12/garmin-app-watchface-of-the-year-2022-ciq-winners-and-nominees-announced/

The idea for this app is simple:
- Use only large fonts, so that all data are visible at a glance (hence the name of the app: Glance   )
- Put as much data on the screen as possible, without sacrificing font size above
- Make all data fields customizeable to your needs
- Make colors customizeable as much as possible, so users can create their own design

The "Glance Watch Face" app is 100% FREE - no hidden restrictions, nagging, or expiration:

There is also a mostly free app - BIG EASY: apps.garmin.com/.../86ec352b-da01-4806-8972-770c6d32a5e8

There are also two paid versions of this app - "Glance Pro":

and "Glance Dual Screen":

Paid versions are identical to the free version (so no worries, FREE doesn't mean bad!), but have a lot of extra features features:

  • Open Weather Map support
  • Setting for TIME font weight
  • New way to use shared color themes
  • Support for many new metrics (like Body Battery, Stress Level, and lots more)
  • Extra progress bars and Graphs (in Dual Screen only)
  • Two separate data screens (in Dual Screen only)
  • A lot more - see apps description for the full list
  • You have an opportunity (and a small incentive) to support the development Slight smile

Unique feature of the Glance apps - you can save your own Color Themes and quicly switch between them righ on the watch.

NEW: Now you can SHARE your Color Theme! You can also quickly apply Color Themes shared with you. Here is a full description of how it all works: https://www.mobiledriveway.com/glance.html#color

Here is the current Color Themes Gallery: https://www.mobiledriveway.com/glance_gallery.html

Color themes are compatible between "Glance" and "Glance Pro" (except for "inactive status icons color", which became obsolete in "Pro").

I'd love to see all color combinations you came up with. Please post your themes in the Reviews and I'll add them to the gallery!

Questions and suggestions are welcome!

  • Hey just picked up your new handy iq face and it's definitely my favorite one yet. I did have a question about the aod mode. I have aod turned off on my watch, with a 15 second timeout but I noticed that the watch face still seems to go into aod mode after about 10 seconds regardless. Is this intended? Is there a setting somewhere to prevent that?

Only other suggestions I would have speaking personally is that I would love the option for some transparency with the watch hands. I appreciate the long press on the hand to hide them, but sometimes I would like to just be able to also see what's behind without the extra step.

Either way, keep up the great work!

That is an odd Garmin system behavior (not the app). For some reason Garmin turns on AOD for a short period, even is it is disabled. There is nothing that the app can do - it is not even aware whether AOD should be used or not. The app just receives a signal from Garmin when it is switched to low power mode.

That is an option, but it kind of defeats the purpose of looking nice. I thought of implementing it, but decided against it for now - hiding hands is cleaner and "less permanent" option.

  • Thanks for the info about aod. I kind of figured it was from the watch itself and not your watch face.

Personally, I still like the option of adding a bit of transparency, but fair enough. The touch control to temporarily hide the hands works more than well enough. Thanks again!

Burn-in protection is done by the app, but enforced by the system - if it is not done correctly, the AOD is turned off completely.

I added an option of seeing metrics on top of the hands. Also added new hands type - Planet Ocean:

  • Please don't forget to leave a review if you like the app!

  • Great update, the transparent hands now display the individual data fields very well.
I'd love to see more hand variations...
The best and only analog watch face with so many data fields.
    Thank you very much

    Thank you!

I am open to suggestions about new hands variations. Digitizing hands is a tedious work (which I don't particularly enjoy), so, you can "order" new hands. It is not going to be cheap (you would have to pay for my time), but it will give you a right to name them. I suggest this arrangement not to get more money, but to give a chance to people who are really passionate about their watch design.

The ordered hands  will be available to all users (not only you), so it will benefit the whole community.

Meanwhile, if I see any hands I really like, I might add them myself.
