Hello. I will soon release a new version that includes the new design and supports more watches.
Yeah, that's sad. I really wish for Garmin to get back on the tracks.
Don't worry, I will support the Fenix 7 series. I'm even thinking about buying one for myself to replace my old Fenix 3. Even if…
Hi thank you for the quick reply. The uploaded activity is on the Feniks 6 watch. I have a fenix 3 without HR, therefore I use an external strap with pulse measurement. I recorded several activities yesterday but I don't have pulse information. Is it possible that heart rate information is not transmitted in the Fenix 3 model?
Regards, Rafal
Hello all,
I'm very busy since the beginning of the year. I will try to release a new version with the new design soon. The beta is no longer available.
I also have to say that I no longer enjoy development for Garmin watches so it may be the final release. It's a real pain to support more watches. They all have different screen sizes and shapes and different behaviors. There are so many variants that it's very complicated to design the different screens (except if you design each screen specifically for each watch but it would take a lot of time). Moreover, the simulator provided by Garmin does not reproduce the exact behavior of the real watches so it's really complicated to debug the app. When I think how such a simple app as Badminton Score Tracker is difficult to develop, I can't imagine the time required for bigger applications...
And I have to mention how difficult it is to control the data collected by the watch (heart rate, distance, etc). You can check my discussion on this here https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/f/discussion/3624/type-of-sport-in-activity-recording-session/. More than 3 years later, nothing has changed, it's still the same mess.
I should also speak about the documentation that is missing so many details and examples. And the sample applications provided by Garmin that are completely outdated. And that's it is not possible to run tests with latest version of Java.
I really hope that Garmin fix all these issues and refrain for creating a new watch every two months (think about the Vivoactive 3 Mercedes Benz edition... yes it exists).
Hello. After starting match, there is no playfield visible on vivoactive 4. The app is functioning, it counts points if you know where to touch the diplay and there is a blink of the playfield but it immediately turns black. Only the time is vissible.
There was an update today, but its still the old design?
Fantastic app matcora - I'd hoped there would be something like this in the IQ store after playing at the weekend and it's spot on, thank you. My only suggestion for improvement would be if the score screen was displayed for longer/always on.
