Because I want to keep this datafield and the app free for use I would be very grateful about a small donation to PayPal

=======================================================================

  • New version 3.7.2 (datafield only) is available

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------

    3.7.2

    * fixed bug with distance to coordinate (imperial conversion)

  • Is the Font mapping for Edge 1050 worked out by anyone? I'm traveling and can't check! Using the original work around.

  • Hi, in HMs DIY #6 public beta version, the data fields on the Fenix 8 look small and cannot be resized, when any font is chosen the size is always the same small. Greetings and great work.

  • Three days of testing with the new "DIY 6", Version: 3.7.2, to see if the "Distance to Coordinate", (imperial conversion), is fixed and I cannot get it to work.

The datafield for "Distance to Coordinate) remains blank (0.0). The "Direction arrow: Start Coordinates" points to the start as it should.

My final two test this afternoon, I did in the car to save time.

I installed both "DIY 4" Version: 3.6.2, and "DIY 6" Version: 3.7.2 into the same Activity profile in the Garmin so I could scroll between the two at the same time and used Designer version 3.7.1 to "copy to clipboard" the Datafield and then pasted into DIY 4 and 6. Both Versions of the DIY had exactly the same settings in Garmin Express.

On both tests "DIY 4" V 3.6.2 worked and showed the "Distance to Coordinate". (Start Location)

On both tests "DIY 6" V 3.7.2 never worked and showed a blank datafield for "Distance to Coordinate" (Start Location)

DIY 4. The "Distance to Coordinate" is above the two arrows showing 1.2 miles.

But just spotted, my total distance is 1.2 miles and distance to coordinate is also 1.2. But I am hoping that that is a fluke and the Distance to Coordinate is 1.2KM and not miles as DIY 4 should still have the issue. If not, something else is amiss.

Just measured it out on a map, its a fluke, 1.2 miles travelled round all the roads and bends etc, and the exact point where the screenshot was took is exactly 1.2 KM in a direct line from the start point. This is why this issue was hard to spot.

DIY 6, the field "Distance to Coordinate" remains blank.

  • Hi, thanks for your testing. I will take a look into that in the weekend.

  • New datafield version 3.7.3 is available on clone #6.

distance to coordinate calculation should work now, I mixed up km and m, sorry for that.

Designer version stays the same (3.7.1)

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------
    3.7.3
    * fixed bug with distance to coordinate (imperial conversion)

  • One more thing. There is still a problem with the different font sizes on the new devices. Current designer version cannot display these fonts of the new devices correctly. I dont know when I have time to fix that, because it isn't a minor change.
I hope I can fix that in the next few weeks.

  • OK, Thanks for that, just got back from my quick "30 miles" else I would have tested it this morning. Probably test it out in the car now if I go out in it today as I may not get out on the bike due to bad weather forcast for the next few days.

  • Went out this morning and I have confirmed that  Version 3.7.3 works  correctly.

Once again compared it with "DIY 4" Version: 3.6.2 which is broken showing Kilometers and Version 3.7.3 which has been repaired to display miles: -

Version 3.7.3, showing the correct distance to start coordinates, 7.2 miles. Confirmed this distance is correct using my route planner by drawing a direct line from the start location to the position of the screenshot which gave me the exact mileage.

A few seconds later, Version: 3.6.2, showing the incorrect distance to start coordinates of 11.5 Kilometers

Many thanks for fixing the issue..
