Because I want to keep this datafield and the app free for use I would be very grateful about a small donation to PayPal

  • Hi

This is a datafield, not a widget, so no steps available!

Because of memory limits there will also no bitmaps or any internet related data.

  • Hi,

Here's a data field specifically for "steps to go" IQ Store

And another one that shows steps for current activity: IQ Store

Another example of a data field displaying weather data from an online source: IQ Store

I understand memory limitations, but your example screenshots above contain icons, I'm just wondering how you achieved that- if they're not possible?

  • These icons are all drawn with the basic elements line circle rectangle...

And steps do not make sense on a datafield, for that there a widgets.

  • Not sure what I'm doing wrong here, but I've specified "Current pace" & "Maximum pace", yet on the watch, during an activity both values show 9:59, and never change. In the layout they're configured as $m:$S. Happy to post my config if that would help? Thanks.

  • You have to start an activity and run faster than pace 9.59 min/km - which is pretty slow!

Or/and you should read the guidance. (page 21)  Wink

  • Well, that'd be great if I was actually using this for running! Even on a walk, at 3.5 mph, the pace stays at 9:59. Page 21 says they are capped (cannot go higher than) 9.59, but nothing about slower than. Still confused.

  • Page 21 says also to see „cap pace at (s)“! You can cancel the cap or set it to what ever you want. Simply tap the link on page 21!

BTW: The slower you are, the higher is pace! Pace for 3.5 mph = 17.14 min/mi

(is it possible that you are confusing pace and speed ...?  Thinking   )

  • Most likely!

Pace is measuring how fast you are moving per mile (in this case)

So if my current speed is 3.5 mph, then my pace is 17.14 (min/mi).

Which exceeds the limit of 9.59, yet the field never displays anything but 9.59. Wouldn't it display 17.14?

  • It would display 17.4 if you do what I have suggested. Cancel "Cap pace"!

Tap on the link on page 21 (as I told you)  to go to page 30!

  • I have, and have been doing what you've suggested. and clicked the link, and read the instructions.....

Back to my original questing... If I was traveling at 2mph, that's a pace of 30min/mi which is > the default 9.59. So why set the default to 9.59. This implies that someone would have to be traveling faster than 10mph, or a pace of 10min/mi before it would even show up. I really don't understand the rational behind setting the default at 9.59.

Also, I understand your override, and what it does, but what is the format for it? The picture show's "599", how does that relate to 9.59? If I wanted to cap the pace override at 30:00, what's the format for [s]?

It's a little frustrating that you'd assume someone traveling at < 10mph is "too slow" for your default. Try reaching the summit of a 14,000ft mountain, on foot, with a 40% grade, good luck going 10mph!
