Because I want to keep this datafield and the app free for use I would be very grateful about a small donation to PayPal

A detailed description of how to use it can be found here:

Thanks very much to mcinner1 for putting so much time into this documentation!

  • Thanks a lot, but did not work. Nothing than 0 values. But sensors are connected and the sensor details show battery status is "ok" (and garmin's builtin datafields show speed and cadence other than 0).

Maybe this is one of the drawbacks of these crippled "explore" devices? I'm using an edge explore 1000.

    regards

  • I’m not an expert in that fields, but if I understand right, the ANT values are available since CIQ vers 3.0.0

Can you check your device which version is installed?

  • I've checked this some month ago. It stucks at 2.4.6...
So I only can use the "garmin values", right?

  • Yeah - or buy a new device  Tired face

  • Thinking - no.

But maybe the sunset datafield will be included in the next version. Wink

  •  I tried Compass Orientation Course by Alexis Alexis Lecanu However it too jumps all around.  It does not seem to work when stopped either.  The interesting thing is the numeric result is seems to provide does seem steady. I have not quite figured out what the number is supposed to be.  Perhaps heading?

  • TE works perfectly and the values are in sync with what Garmin shows - I  was wrong and looked at the wrong Garmin value - it was Anaerob TE at which I accidentely looked.

    I'm sorry for that!

  • I made some tests yesterday evening - with datafield version 2.7.9
In principle all direction arrows works - showing to N was in sync with Garmin's compass, pointing to start works and also pointing to the setting value. And also Alexis Lecanu's Compas Orientation Course works and shows the same direction.

BUT: thhat version 2.7.9 was very unstable! At the beginning it shows longitude and latidue values but after about 500m riding the values got empty!
The direction arrows still shows the correct directions and also the distance to coordinate! I'm not sure about "Current heading" - but as far as I remember it then shows 0 (at the beginning it shows a correct value).

And also the status values for my ant devices (Garmin speed an Garmin cadence) got lost and even the "GPS high acc indicator" got lost...

    Very strange!

  • Hi

It seems to me that you lost the gps signal. current latitude, longitude and heading are straight from the SDK.

Can you check, if there is an entry in the GARMIN/APPS/LOG folder. There should be a ciq_log.txt file.

  • There is one more thing I can try to read the battery status. But for this I need a USB ANT+ stick. I just ordered one, and it will arrive next week, I hope. Then I can at least test my HRM Run HR strap for the basic implementation.

So, for now I will leave it as it is, because the new implementation doesn't make sense without testing it.

I will make a version 2.8.1 which uses the old code for reading the battery status. When I have the ANt+ stick and the code ready, I will release a new version.
