I also noticed another dev pushing some updated apps/widgets which support newer devices?
hi,
accroding what I've read, Garmin watchfaces don't use SDK.
and about dev who has the new device on their app, One of them is the "CIQ dev of the year" so I guess he has some privileges.
But look forward having it ^__^.
I saw some dev complain about it, about bug etc, but in my opinion, I think we don't have to complain because Garmin give to us everything to do app for free and never ask for something in return...
So I just want to say big thanks to Garmin !!!
and some Garmin dev who fix issue quicly.
Garmin watchfaces don't use SDK
There are two types of Garmin watch faces:
- Watch faces that come on the device are written in a native language. These watch faces have access to more metrics that are not available to connect iq and can be optimized so that they use less energy
- all watch faces downloadable in the Connect IQ store by Garmin are also written in the Monkey C language by Garmin employees and are packaged with the connect iq SDK
yes, my mistake I was mistaken and made confusion with native one.
Awesome! How do we access the advertised "crash logs"?
My SkyTracker face works just fine in the simulator but seems to crash on my Fenix 6 pro...
In eclipse, under the Connect IQ menu. It's been in the betas.
Alseo see this: https://forums.garmin.com/developer/connect-iq/b/news-announcements/posts/exceptional-crash-logging
Well that's pretty cool!
But my face is crashing when I try to select it and can't see anything in the ERA tool... Can't seems to see my device "drive" on my mac either to retrieve the log files...
I'm obviously missing something :)
I also tried to install the latest actiface on my fenix 6 with the same results... only show the connect iq logo when trying to select it.
