Hi guys!
After update 12.23 gps track has been disappointingly inaccurate.
Before update gps track was incredibly smooth!

Maybe opaque autumn clouds?

All,
After reviewing the information provided (in this thread and via email) by many of you, I am having a difficult time finding examples of when the watch is recording a GPS position outside of the 3…
In addition to my comment below, we would like to know if any of you are experiencing the symptoms mentioned in:
Not maintaining GPS Lock in GPS Only mode
If so, please comment on that thread.
All,
We have had various GPS improvements since the 12.23 update. After updating to 13.15 (which is the current beta software), are any of you seeing GPS issues either during your recorded activity or…
Then I’m not crazy. I am losing my mind, to understand, as it is possible, that a watch of this kind, does worse, than a watch, much cheaper and with less GPS systems! Today I tried again, with all systems…
Hi Kevin, after updating to 13.21 nothing changes:
Run on 22.11.22 at 19:08 SW:13.21 GPS: Smart; GPS-mode: auto-select, Problem at Minute 1:30-2:00
I suspect we're seeing two different things here.
There is undoubtedly GPS jamming in evidence in the tracks recorded in Moscow. They're accurate until they pass close to certain landmarks, then become…
Hi Stefan! Have you changed the Data Recording setting from Smart to Every second? Sometimes it helps... I think there are kinda problems with smart function of data recording...
Hi, i tried it yesterday... no change. (look in this thread at the end). Funnywise it is only one time mostly short after start of running, the rest is verry smooth.
Still the same on 13.22. Distances ar off as well. Ran two races a 15k distance on Garmin 955 15,4 km , half marathon 21,69 km

@spruitp, looking at your 2 races it seens visually not perfect but reasonably ok to me. (Congratulations for your reat performances in the races by the way!)
Did you compare the total gps distance to other people with different Garmin watches in the same race?
In my case, the FR955 route log is kinda ok (like yours) for "run" and "open water" swim profiles. For other sports profiles I've tried like trail run, track run, kayak, sup and "other" the route log is a mess like I showed in this topic.
Maybe you or anyone else in this topic would run some testing using one of these apps, like trail run. So if it shows any issues you can upload watch files to support like I did.
Garmin-Kevin is treating the case with engineering team, but it's been more than a month without updates or news on the matter. Any news?
Often races are officially measured around the shortest possible path, which usually means taking the "racing line" round corners. Little deviations from that can add up.
And having a more accurate GPS can sometimes make that worse, as there's less smoothing and averaging of the path actually taken.
For example, older Garmin devices always under-record my local parkrun which has lots of sharp turns and tree cover. Newer devices with better GPS always over-record the distance. The difference is between 10% under and 10% over.
I have ran these races previously on the same courses with a 945 or an 630. They then measured 14,9 and 20,9 km. So i was surprised that the distance was longer then expected. They are measured courses. My mates registered 15 km exactly and for the 21,1 km, 20,94.
this is my old file wich also was 20,9 i ran in 2017 on the same course
