Screen Frozen, Not Responding, or Gesture and Touch Do Not Work

i bought a lily a few days ago. as soon as I go to the sun the screen no longer lights up either with the movement of the hand or by typing

beta 4.91 improves the situation a bit. but it is not yet perfect. as soon as I go into the sun the screen goes out. and the watch restarts when I get home. the only improvement is I no longer need to plug in the watch for it to wake up.

  • I have exactly the same problem with the watch of my wife. 1st watch with your described problems. Garmin Support (Switzerland) exchanged the watch ... but the same problem:

    - Without an activity running, the screen freeze at minimum twice per week

    - With an activity running, the screen freeze in one of two activities

    Here my configuration:

    - Firmware: 4.60 (newest). To be sure I made a reset of the watch after the Firmware update

    - MoveIQ = OFF

    - Auto activity = OFF

    - Gesture = OFF (I realized, that with this parameter the problem happen a lite bit less often)

    - Temporisation = Short

    As a bonus for Garmin:

I realized that when the screen is frozen the watch will no longer count steps and HR. But I tried to search the watch with Garmin Connect on my Smartphone (Find my Lily function in the App). And surprise, the watch wakes up and you can use all menu functions. But when the screen turns off again (temporiation), the screen is frozen again. The only way to wake-up the watch is to put it on the charger with the cable. I did several Resets of the watch but nothing relay helps !

Lily is a lovely designed watch but the watch is unusable. Please Garmin, do something to resolve this problem!!!

Is it a general Garmin Lily problem (I think so) or only a problem for certain Lily serial numbers ?

Thanks to Garmin for a Feedback!

    Best regards

  • Reassuring to see other people with the same issue…..Garmin is giving me the option of returning for a different type of watch but I am Not sure what to do.  Wife loves the design and how the watch works when it works.  Everything else Garmin offers has a much bigger screen.

wish they would just fix the issue

  • I can beat that, a week old and already not responding to gesture movement, so disappointed. I've had the basic vivofits for my last 3 bands and no issues. They do what they are supposed to do. I treated myself to a birthday upgrade, seems smart devices not so smart. Hey Garmin, want to reply and tell us all the problem?

  • So just received a Lily Garmin and I have the same issue. The wrist movement doesn’t work and touch is inconsistent.

  • Now on 2nd Lily after they requested we send back the original which had this issue - 2nd one fails in the same way (start an activity and it just hangs, connect charger and it's back but you lose all the activity data)
Expensive plastic bangle at the moment!

  • I am having the exact same issue. I have had this activity tracker for TWO days.  The screen will work fine and then randomly stop waking up and  stop counting steps. Super frustrating and getting ready to return this worthless piece of junk.

  • Hi, I have just bought this watch as a present and it froze on us on second and third day, this is definitely a faulty product. Temporary solution is to connect it to the charger as mentioned above in the thread which reboots it. Unfortunately the charging cable is not always on hand so I have came up with the following - go to Garmin Connect app and trigger "find my device". This wakes the watch up and triggers the screen so you can go to settings and pair it again with the phone. Very inconvinient but in a pinch it works. We will be creating a support case with Garmin for this defect. It is not accetable to have a watch which freezes on your way to work everyday.

  • I having the same Problem too :/

  • If it’s not too late, return your device. Farming has been silent on this so I don’t expect they’ll fix it.
