2x respiration rate since Feb 18 2025

Hi, does anyone notice after the firmware update the respiration rate become 2x or almost 2x of real value? My Fenix 8, Tactix 7 are like that. Then last night I pair my old Venu 3, it gives my a proper value. This morning, I got a new Venu 3 firmware update, after the update, it becomes as bad as my Fenix 8. 

I use other devices such as the Clinic grade Masimo to check and compare my respiration rate, yes, it confirms Fenix 8 is indeed not showing proper value.

    Hello Laurie and Garmin engineers.

    Take a look at the photo, please. The difference between measurements is <1m, sitting steady. Deviation is ranging from -40% to +40% comparing to Forerunner 245.

    Does this also look correct?

    Elevate 5 sensor has HUGE issues with this metrics.

    I have the same issue, Since feb23 this year,  an increase in bprm that I cannot relate to anything.  Also the bprm seems ridiculous to me, I always have a very slow breath,  and.  When I try to purposely breath 15 bprm like my watch is saying that I do,  it feels like panting and it feels very uncomfortable.

    Garmin vp engineering or CEO, That’s how bad it is. It is in the YouTube. I spend thousands of usd for your watch since 2019. Stop to telling me your engineers say it is by design. What is working last year , now no longer working. That’s for sure.

    I received an update from support saying that the ticket was closed as engineering stated it was ”by design”.

    If my respiration rate is 14 it’s not 18 or 20 as my watch says! What’s next? Another fault in the sensors that will double the detected heart rate?

    I can’t believe this. I bought Garmin for the last 15 years for the quality of the measurements…. Probably not for the next 15 years then

    What I told you was, that originally this was closed as by design. But since many are still reporting this as an ongoing concern, this was being reopened. However, since this is not being experienced by all, they have not been able to be reproduced internally. So they are looking for additional examples, including a breath activity where you have counted your number breaths for comparison. I do hope this helps to clarify the concern.

    I have had this problem ongoing since February. The most infuriating thing is no one is giving this attention.$1100 watch basic function doesn't work. If my watch has a hardware function that is causing it then send me a replacement????
