Hello. I am sorry to hear you are having this issue. Our engineers have identified an issue that may crashing/rebooting when navigating or using the map. They are anticipating a fix for this to be introduced…
It is a problem with a faulty GPE file. Fenix/Epix series can be fixed without hard reset. - Connect the watch to the computer - Hard power down the watch by holding the light/power key for ~30 seconds…
Yes. The same happens here. I’ve tried to do a soft reset, but now my watch is stuck in a loading maps loop where after the maps are loaded, it says ‘checking maps’ and then powers off to a blue triangle…
Same here. My watch is looping through the following sequence: blue triangle - Fenix 8 animated logo - checking maps - power off - blue triangle - Fenix 8 animated logo, etc etc.
I've tried powering the…
attach it to a pc or laptop and connect to the Garmin express app. That broke the reboot cycle for me
This is some MAJOR FUp from Garmin. Disabled GPS still crashing. How is this even possible if my watch is not set to auto update? Update from GPS that fup many Garmin series of watches?
Same issue, crashed at a depth of 24m on my second dive for the day, not the reliable Garmin brand that i have experienced for over 20 years. Seems the only activity that does not crash is swimming.
Same here with my Fenix 8 AMOLED… I updated to the Beta Version and seems to work ok now… but this is very dissapointing.
My MARQ Gen2 Commander doesn’t power on and is stuck on the « MARQ initial screen »…
Haha same here. I just got my Fenix 8 Titanium and I can't start an activity, insane.
same issue .. i have beta 13.14 .. exited in beta program but from today after started activity or switch to activity watch itself has been rebooted .. then tried softr reset and hard reset and now i am in reboot loop .. what the *** .. unable to fix it .. or tell me if there is some possibility to start watch .. just to see time :(
I have the same problem. I started an activity this morning, and immediately the blue triangle appeared. It's now entered a loop, and despite trying about 20 times to do the factory reset outlined in multiple other threads, I get no beeps at all at any point, and it just carries on in the loop. I have disconnected blue tooth, removed the watch from my phone entirely, and from the Garmin Connect app. It seems to be completely dead with no way to get out of this infinite loop.
I wouldn't even mind doing a factory reset and re-installing everything (as outlined in this thread), but that isn't even possible.
This Reddit thread contains some more info on people experiencing this across multiple devices.
There's now a notice in red at the top of the Spanish support pages saying "We are investigating reports of devices displaying a blue triangle when starting a GPS activity. A restart by pressing and holding the power button may restore functionality. We will provide more information about a permanent solution when it becomes available."
Same here. I'am very disappointed. I paid for Fenix 8 to have a reliable device. This is not acceptable.
Seems like using Threadmill (not using GPS) will have to do for today
yes. I start to wonder if going for more fetures and fancy stuff was a bad choice... I am back on the Fenix 7X SS and hope a software update will come soon, so i can see if this Amoled is my thing or not ;-)
