Golf Distance Auto Shot Banner Issues after v23.00 Software

Since the update to the latest Software on my fenix 6 (v23) the golf distance banner at the top of the screen has been replaced by a hole number and the par of the hole

I really like this feature how do I get it back ,

  • I have no more problems with shot distances after a hard reset. Played 6 rounds after the reset and the watch has recorded all of my shots.
What I have noticed that after my initial update that in the golf settings my score was set to OFF and  I change this to ON.

I have a Fenix 6X pro solar, software 23.00 (dd2cf43) and use the CT10 sensors

    Furthermore my settings are
    score - ON
    Scoremethod - stableford
    Handicap - exact hcp
    Handicap - 20
    Statistics - on
    Driver distance - 180 metres
    Playslike - on
    Big numbers - off
    Tournament - Off
    Golfdistance - metres
    Club notification - on
    Record activity - on

    maybe this will help :-)

  • Bit off topic

In Garmin Connect you can assign 5 wood, hybrids 2 till 6 and pitching, gap sand and lob wedge.

  • Using GF6XPS and fw 23.02 beta.

    Scoring Method - Stroke Play

    H'cap Scoring - Off

    Stat Tracking - Off

    Driver Distance - 230m

    PlaysLike - Off

    Big Numbers - Off

    Tournament Mode - Off

    Golf Distance - Metres

    Club Prompt - Off

    Cheerz ;^)

  • The v23.02 update does not resolve the issue. If a future Alpha or Beta does resolves the issue, I will update this thread above where our official update is above beneath the main post on each page.

  • Is it possible to roll back to the previous firmware?

  • Thanks, just found it. Still a couple of clubs missing but better than nothing Thumbsup

  • Try setting the scoring to enable. In the manual  Garmin states "Before the device can automatically detect and measure shots, you must enable scoring."

In my case that solved the issue.

  • I gave some clubs a nick name. For instance wedge 60 degrees. Your watch face will show the nick names.

  • I was told by a Garmin help desk person that NO we can't roll back to a previous version. Guess we will just have to wait. It still amazes me that they could release something with such a feature broken.

  • Hi Chris, same issue... no auto shot detection for the last 2 week... what to do? Please help as this is very frustrating. TIA
