Unlikely. Isn't this an elevate 4 feature?
If you use something like Elite HRV which has given a 'Readiness' score for years + plus monitor your resting heart rate + know your own body (most…
Perhaps there is a chance to get this feature on Fenix 6 in future? Looking at the items needed for the calculation of Training Readiness, looks like all of them are now present on F6, with recent addition…
What do you think?
Personally - and I speak from experience having owned an F7 for a while, I would always take the readiness reading from Elite HRV / HRVTraining over Garmin's readiness…
Rip. Training readiness gone from Garmin Connect's edit my day list after this morning's update on ios.
Only the Q4 Official Software update will be able to answer your question. A lot can change between Alpha going to Beta and then going to the official software update.
Based on engineering noting a change in the Alpha v23.73 release notes, there is a Training Readiness Widget.
Mine is v. 4.59 for Android.
Thank you for replying Garmin - Chris.
The confusion came from the initial release notes for Alpha 23.74 that referenced "Training Readiness" widget phrases.
It has been edited since then, though, and now it says "Training Status" instead of "Training Readiness".
Any update if Training Readiness and Stamina will be rolled out for Fenix 6 series?
It won't.
Are you stating that with any kind of authority or insider knowledge, or just a hunch?
The latter. But I'm ready to bet money on it.
More is not always better. I have a number of issues running F7 series watches not least of which is training readiness. Let me explain:
1. On a daily (same course) one hour walk activity, the OHR of F5, F6, F7 watches has evidenced serious issues within base level testing for a medical research programme. The testing includes a dozen watches alternately tested every day for sixteen months, including simultaneous testing with heart rate straps. 30+% of walks evidence significantly inaccurate OHR for prolonged periods. Inaccuracies include regular periods of ten+ minutes where HR registers up to double the actual HR at the time. The result is that all F7 training metrics are skewed, including training readiness.
NB: I do have a full-on sprint athletics training programme as well which ALWAYS uses a heart strap.
As a result of the base level testing, all participants in the research programme will be instructed that a heart rate strap is a mandatory requirement even for walking activity.
All data has been shared with Garmin tech.
2. Garmin cannot as yet deal with multiphasic / bimodal sleeping and naps. As a result, training readiness is adversely impacted by sleep score which, however good my sleep, is almost always reported as 'poor'.
Both 1 & 2 above also negatively impact training status and recovery time.
I am now seriously considering downgrading to F6 series watches to eradicate the advanced training metrics provided in the F7 series.
very informative post!
I've been holding on for Fenix 8 until I upgrade my fenix 6! Still does everything I need it to.
