PacePro Plans Don't Synch to Watch or Garmin Connect Mobile App

PacePro stopped synching before the 18.80 public betas. 

I've uninstalled/reinstalled the following:  

Garmin Connect
18.80 public beta

I haven't received any error messages when using Garmin desktop or Connect IoS apps. 

This issue was also reported in the 18.80 public beta forum thread. 

I received confirmation from [email protected] -Mon, Aug 16, 2021, at 12:50 PM - that this problem is reproducible.  Unfortunately, *NO* indication as to when this issue would be further addressed for resolution. 

It's frustrating that this key feature of Garmin is broken :-(.  The issue was not listed in the System 18:10 software update that is being rolled out.

  • And now check the watch for the Pace Pro plan

  • Havent used PacePro for a while (due to that it works badly with my Pace problems with the watch) but I tested to create a new PacePro plan in Connect web version and then tried to sync it to the watch. Everything looked like it worked but the PacePro plan did not show up on the watch. Also tested to create a PacePro plan in Connect mobile (android), same problem.

    Also tried to clean all PacePro plans on the watch and sync an old one which have worked before. No success.

    So, something is clearly broken here... I don't know when it stopped working but it clearly does not work with firmware 18.80 on my watch. Or, maybe the problem is with Garmin Express, that was also updated recently. 

    Fenix 6X Pro Solar Titanium with firmware 18.80 beta. Garmin Express 7.8.1.0.

  • Thanks for sharing the screenshot.  When you checked your PacePro Plan on your watch, the course and plans appear on your watch that were synched from the Garmin website?

  • To confirm, you did not create these PacePro plans from your watch -- you used Garmin Connect website or mobile app?

  • Philip - did you have existing PP plans on already? I'm wondering if this only people uploading new when empty. Just even tryed via cable (connected watch, created PP plan on GC web and got it to open Express) - no joy....

  • Can people do a test - Check their /Garmin/Newfiles folder is empty, or make a note of whats in there. Then try sending a PP file to the watch, are you (like me) getting an extra file in there? That would suggest that GC is sending the file to the watch but it's either corrupt (it's only 2K and FitFileExplorer doesnt show much in it) or the f/w cant parse it

    • Deleted all PP plans on watch and GCinterweb
    • Deleted all courses on watch and GC Interweb
    • Cleared any files from NEWFILES

    • Synced watch to GE
    • Checked no courses or PP plans on watch
    • Created course from saved activity
    • Created PP plan from new course
    • Synced to watch via GE
    • PP plan on watch

  • Yep, NewFiles builds up with one new file for each attempt to export the PacePro plan to the watch. 1KB file size for me...
