Why I´m asked to recover if I´m fully recovered?

The training status widget tells me that I am fully recovered:

...while the training adviser asks me to recover:

Does that make sense to anyone? Thanks!

  • My guess is that the suggested workout is generated early in the morning, probably based on sleep data.

Say 3 hours passed by and you completed the recovery: it will still tell you to do a recovery activity.

Does it make sense? Not much to me.

  • I've seen this quite a lot lately too. Fully recovered but my suggested workouts are light and short recovery rides or runs.

And I've been unproductive for about a month now! No idea what the watch wants me to do to become productive.

  • The first picture of "0" left of recovery time, that is basically recovery without any activity.
The second, where it advise you to do a recovery run, that feels quite accurate as the body needs both slower pace runs as well as harder pace runs. Also, it is just an advise, you can just discard it and do your own paced run.

It could easily just have had a different name, like " low intensity" or "pulse zone 3", would you have noticed it the same way then?
I think you specifically notice it because it is named "recovery...."

  • The Suggested workout is available from midnight onwards so you can easily get to a situation where if you had 6 hours recovery time left when you went to sleep, the countdown would reach zero by the time you wake. If it helps, if you stick with the suggestions you will get an interesting mix of runs over time.

However, my chest strap failed recently so my watch HR sensor was used and suddenly my recorded HR was way higher and now I need to train the suggestions back into line. I have replaced the chest strap and the HR numbers no longer look like my head will explode at Base running pace.

  • If what you say is true that would mean the advise would be totally random. I don´t think its meant that way.

  • That sounds a tick more likely. But wouldn´t they generate the training advice rather at the point where I actually start an activity (which is also the point where the advice is displayed) rather that at midnight?

Side note: Today also also felt like I should recover, so the todays suggestion was somehow better adjusted.

I wonder how both informations are generated. I´d guess not from the same data.

  • All I know is that if I check what my Suggested Workout is in the early hours (insomnia) then I can see an updated recommendation. I then go back to bed and try to sleep.

  • No, what i mean is that it kind of makes sense to give you an advice of a lower pace or volume training session based on metrics captred during your last session and/or day.
What i meant is that because it is using the name "Recovery..." it is easier to catch that name and think it to be wrong because you just finished your recovery/rest period.

I do not think it is random in any way.

  • Does that make sense to anyone? Thanks!

Yes, it is two different things. The first one is an advice to rest (or not if you are fully recovered). The second one is the advice for the activity you are about to start (cycling in this case I guess). Doing a recovery run or ride is not the same as taking it easy and go for a walk instead of running or biking.

The vocabulary is full of words that have slightly different meanings depending on the context...

  • That makes sense to you? To me not to be honest. If I am "fully recovered" as the watch states, why would I need a recovery ride, instead of e.g. goinf full in that day?
