Corrupted swim files

Seems to happening with increasing frequency now. As soon as I ended my swim the screen went straight to the blue triangle screen. I've also had times in the past where it shows up in Garmin connect as a multisport event - with just a swim. Garmin Connect, Strava and TrainingPeaks don't recognise the file. Garmin support have not been helpful over email. Going to call tomorrow.

I cannot click into the activity data on the watch and the swim icon just has a dotted line icon instead of being filled in and blue.

Any one else experiencing this issue?

No. I got the "blue triangle of death" and a corrupted swim file again on Saturday. Interestingly I managed to do a swim workout on Thursday before the update, without the file being corrupted. Before that the file got corrupted three swims in a row.

No unfortunately.

But I tried not to use the "drill mode" (when you want to record part of an activty without auto-detecting the stroke) and then... by miracle it worked.

So I suspect that this workout "drill mode" is partly cause of the problem.

I never used drill mode. My new Fenix 6 Pro works fine. The older Fenix 6 no :-(

I always do drills as part of my swims. I wonder if this is the cause of the crashing? Imagine that.

An update from me on this. A month ago I called Garmin support and they advised me to factory reset my Fenix 6. I did that and until today had had almost a month of pool swim workouts saving just fine and uploading to Garmin Connect.

Today I encountered the issue again so as requested by Garmin a month ago I have sent in the Garmin folder along with examples of when the corrupt files occurred. I have had five examples when I would start a pool swim and the watch would crash when saving but the workout would sync to Garmin Connect as a multi-sport event. This is clearly a software bug so I hope they bloody fix it!
