All Weather Widget Issues - Post Here

If you do not see your weather updating on your Fenix 6 series watch, please try the following steps:

1) Ensure your watch software is fully up to date and your Connect Mobile APP has been updated.

2) Open the Connect Mobile APP and sync your watch

3) Power your smartphone off and on

4) Power your watch off and on

If still an issue:

5) Step outside and acquire GPS with any outdoor activity

6) Hard Reset - with your watch on, hold down your power button until it shuts off (you will not lose any settings with this reset)

- Also, on all iPhones, due to how iOS works with the GCM APP, you must leave the Garmin Connect Mobile APP open on your phone to remain updated. This does not require you leave your phone unlocked or the APP running in the foreground. When you first sync each day, leave the GCM APP in the background in suspend with all of the other items you have on your smartphone. Do not force close it out.

Your smartphone settings are also an impact:

  1. Open the Garmin Connect app
  2. Select   (upper left corner)
  3. Select Settings
  4. Select App Permissions
  5. Ensure Location is ON.  If not, select Manage (right side in blue)
  6. Select Permissions
  7. Enable Location
  8. Tap the back arrow at the top left to back out and save these settings
  9. Power off and then power back on the Garmin device (where applicable), and sync it through the Garmin Connect app

NOTE: For optimal performance of the Garmin Connect app, ensure that all permission settings are set to on and location set to always for the Connect APP.

Apple

  1. Open the Settings menu on the phone
  2. Select Privacy
  3. Select Location Services
  4. Toggle on if needed
  5. Select Connect from the list of apps on the Location Services screen
  6. Ensure ALLOW LOCATION ACCESS is set to Always
  7. Power off and then power back on the Garmin device (where applicable), and sync it through the Garmin Connect app

Here is our Support Center article for the Weather Widget - The Weather Widget is Not Displaying

For me personally and those I have reached out to, on our Fenix 6 watches, if we do not see the weather updated, we sync through the GCM APP and typically within 30-90 seconds, it will update and show the temperature properly again.

  • Both watch using the same iphone to syn, FR935 weather widget works fine, Fenix 6 X sapphire weather widget stuck almost 3 weeks !

I reinstall the weather widget today to check if it can show weather, but no luck!

  • Got the weather back by connect to an Android phone...

Its not an ultimate fix, at least acclimation can function now!

There will be an update to version 10.10 for all of our SE Asia region based Fenix 6 watches, in the near future. We do not have an anticipation date but when I inquired, I learned the unique update that pertains to different SE Asia countries, is being worked on and is coming soon.

  • update, this morning the weather widget waiting info again, this time disconnect the Android phone, use iphone indeed...

the weather show again, really no idea how this thing works!

  • Fenix 6 is waiting for data for about a month now? And FR245 works perfectly. Did everything. All permissions on, no battery saver, etc.

Today after updating the Garmin Connect and ConnectIQ in my Apple iPhone, Weather is now being updated.

  • Here is my issue. Current temperature never differs from feel-like-temperature on main screen of weather widget.

  • There are 2 widgets for temperature on your watch.

    1) The Widget called "Weather" representing the weather widget that is being updated through your smartphone having access to the internet for the Connect Mobile APP to send weather updates from your nearest regional weather station reporting across the internet.

    2) The Widget called "Temperature" is the ambient temperature around you coming from the temperature sensor built into your watch. For best results, remove your watch 10-15 minutes. Otherwise, your body heat could give a higher reading.

The watch faces that came on your watch, the only data fields you have access to adding to them is for the Weather Widget. (Note: the temperature sensor does not have an onscreen data field for the default built-in watch faces.)

  • Thank you for this widget likbez. But I know it since 2015 Slight smile

I wrote about Weathet widget. It has 4 data screen as you possibly know. On the first screen of Weather widget there are some data: current temperature from weather forecast and feels-like temperature. I noticed that feels-like temperature never differs from current forecast temperature. I saw a defference only twice. Neither strong wind, no hight humidity  can make it to be different. So I suggest it's not work.

P.S. My watch is Fenix 6 pro, fw 11.10

  • Fenix 6x Sapphire with 11.10. Waiting for data since the update day. Steps so far:

    - reboot both phone and watch (still no data)

    - reset (remove app data and cache) connect data and retry (still no data)

    - soft reset watch (hold 15 sec the power button) (still no data)

Now doing hard reset (delete data and settings from watch)

I just cannot believe how such a basic feature cannot work correctly on a watch that is ~900 eurs
