5.77 Change Log Notes:

  • Fixed an issue where the device would crash when starting a POI search right after canceling an 'Around Me' search.
  • Fixed an issue where features that auto-enable during the sleep window were not working as expected. (For Ex: Battery Saver.)
  • Made some improvements to the DogTracker widget.
  • Made several other bug fixes and code improvements.

We have temporarily removed in-activity data field editing in this beta. We have identified a few bugs and while they are difficult to reproduce, we do not want our customers to experience these issues. When these bugs are resolved, this feature will be added back in to software.

Current beta peripheral software version numbers below. New versions are indicated in red.

  • I feel your pain.  I keep watching the forums in hopes that they sort this out with either a hardware or software change.  Glad I returned it.   I'll continue to linger for a while longer, but I've relegated myself to another brand which performs fantastic.

  • I am on 6.0 but same Sensor HUB 4.20 and dit a short "cardio" training today with too high HR with wrist HR. In the diagram You can clearly see when I put on the Polar H7 chest strap. I did put it on when I realized my HR was unexpectedly high, HR went to 120 easily with wrist HR but I had really work to get it to even 110 with the H7.

  • I think he just means a forced power-off / power-on. Not a factory reset which would erase his data and settings.

  • Two new problems I'm having.

    1.  GPS 2.70  Trail run came up with 14.4mi on a section of trail that I know is 15.4mi.  that's way way short.  Previously, I had no issues with gps distance.  the track look visually looks fine.  nothing strange about it.  No sections where it jumped or wasn't tracking.  I should note- that I was trail marking for an upcoming ultra, and did a lot of stop and go, and autopause was on.  Perhaps that was the cause?  will continue to watch.

    2.  Weather widget.  It always seems to say "waiting for data", unless I open up garmin connect and sync.  It didn't used to do this.

I doubt that the GPS firmware is where distance is managed. It will indirectly impact if the GPS accuracy changes but I guess that distance is managed in the main firmware and the apps.

  • Hello. I have exactly the same problem as you, WHR is always too much higher during running or trail activities, often between 20 and 30 bpm more. I compared with Polar M430 which is known to be accurate. I quicly lost patience and bought Polar H10 chest strap. I noticed that with WHR, the watch never registred HR max, lactic threshold and always give poor health condition... very very anoying !! It is as if the watch does not trust itself !! Miracle when I started to use the chest strap. My F6 is with 5.0 firmware and none beta. But this problem with too much higher WHR exists for me until september, when I bought the watch.

  • the heart rate is displayed immediately correct when I start an activity profile. With the same position on  the arm.

Same here. 6.00 and sensor 4.20. You realize Garmin messed up when your 4 year old Fitbit 100 dollar tracker does better 24/7 tracking than your 800 dollar smartwatch. Truly disappointing this goes without a fix for months and maybe will never get fixed.

  • I think is better that you will install new official version 6.00 and let us know if you will resolve or not.

  • I am not sure if firmware does not have an impact. What if it really is an antenna problem, causing weak GPS/Glonass signals not being read properly, and then the firmware/app creates shortcut to next readable signal. Maybe it is possible to tweak the firmware to be more intelligent with regard to the accelerometer. But then Garmin must rethink, since they should have tons of experience with just GPS/Glonass from other devices.
