Spotify is slow to download, gets stuck often and drains battery quickly while syching

It slow, 50 songs are taking for ever.  It gets stuck often where I have to back out and try again. On a good note it seems to be able to pick up where it left of. Also the battery drains extremely quickly during the synch with wifi.  I loose 1% of battery faster then i gain 1% of the download, the battery literally drains right in front of my eyes.  Started with a battery at 90%, still trying to get 50 songs synched, not done yet and the battery is now at 73% while the synch is stuck again at 47% complete.  A bug, my setup or is this common?

  • If you put your device to a wall charger, the device will automatically start to sync with Spotify/Deezer after some seconds.

  • i will try that later. it appeared like it was stuck with an error but i guess you're saying it could resume on its own. will try and see what happens

  • Feature, every time stuck and fail with Spotify.

  • after 100s of attempts i got 166 songs synched. now it simply can't move beyond this point, it fails each time.

Sorry I couldn't be more help, but I'd like to suggest one more thing.  Maybe it's something with song 167 if you can't get beyond 166?  I assume Spotify downloads numerically.  Have you tried deleting that song?

  • iam now at song 170, it just seems like the synch re starts and fails early each time not passing the furthest point. i keep getting "Music Sync Failed" with a red circle around the watch and an X on top.

  • I have done a lot of tests with the Spotify sync and here is the conclusion what I figured out.

The Wifi connection was never the limitation. I never blame wifi. The synchronization speed is depending directly from your mobile operator network and specifically if using 4G.

In my country (Estonia) we have a three mobile operators: Telia, Elisa and Tele2. I tested all of them.

The synchronization speed is excellent with Telia and Tele2. Doesnt matter the connection type, either 4G or cable. Watch is connected through wifi obviously.

The synchronization speed is very low with Elisa 4G connection. Songs are synchronizing extremely slowly and podcasts are not synchronizing at all. On the same time with the same connection, phone synchronization is working normal speed.

Elisa connection tested in front of their 4G antenna so the speedtest is showing 50MB downloading and 20MB uploading. No limitation here.

Each of you if you have an issue with the Spotify synchronization speed, please try another operator or try to find connection which is not going over 4G.

  • i have tried both my home wifi (standard none 4g) and also tried using my phone as a mobile hot spot. Same poor results. iam now on songg 191 out of 130. If iam lucky i get 2 to 5 new songs with each attempt. most of the time it fails before adding any songs at all, uggggg,

i am beginning to think that maybe the problem isn't wifi but rather writing to memory or storing the data may be the issue, idk but wifi signal is shown as excellent and i never have wifi issues when synching anything but music

  • just want to +1 on all of these problems. podcasts just don't work at all, trying to add new downloads is temperamental at best and trying to update songs manually just doesn't work. waste of time app.

  • waste of time app.

But not for everyone and this is why we're trying to figure it out.

  • fair enough, can see how my comment could be taken as overtly dismissive!
