Anyone STILL having heart rate accuracy issues with their Fenix 6?

Hi all,

Super frustrated, but I am still having issues with my Fenix 6S and heart rate accuracy even with the 4.20 software update. I'm wondering if it's just me or what the deal is? I had a 5S Plus before this and had no issues doing the same activities so I really don't think it's user error. My heart rate hardly reads over 110 during really vigorous exercise when my heart rate is closer to 160+. I have tried wearing on the inside of my wrist, tried my other wrist with no luck. It consistently reads 80-110 bpm the whole time. I wouldn't have bothered to upgrade if I knew this was going to be an issue. I know that wearing a chest strap is the most accurate, but I don't like to have to wear it for all of my work outs and my old Fenix was totally fine as well as my apple watch before that. Any suggestions?

  • Yes, then the respiration rate works

  • There can be so many things

We agree on this 100%.  There are people who have no issues at all.  Others only outside an activity.  Others say OHR measures too high and yet another group are saying it measures too low.  There are too many differences to reasonably say it's software related following 3.00, wouldn't you agree?  If we all had the same issue at the same time, then we can reasonably conclude the last update was the cause.  Because there are so many different experiences, no future update will fix this for everyone.

    Saludos.

    Google translate:
Garmin does not want to hear, see or solve the obvious error that there is so much in Forerunner 945 (since version 2.80) and Fenix 6 (two relatives have the same problem in their Fenix 6 ) I sent an email to [email protected] and got no response. Finally, my Forerunner 945 has returned to version 2.70 to work properly, even if the watch loses functionality.
    Greetings.

  • A bug with the Express version for mac? I have been using fenix models for years. Garmin changed the file system with the 6 series. If you want to access the memory you need android file transfer software. Maybe Garmin is working wrong with mac.

  • It's possible.  I use a PC.  It would be interesting if it could be narrowed down to something like that.  Find the culprit and a fix becomes easier and quicker.

  • It's been nice conversing with you Allalin72, but I have to go.  My boys are on the way over for Sunday dinner.  I truly hope there's a resolution for the problems you're having and I hope it comes soon.  I know you've been dealing with this for quite awhile now and I would have the same frustrations you're experiencing if our roles were reversed.  I wish you the best.

  • Thanks, that's very nice of you! Hopefully there will soon be a solution for me and the others who have the same problem. I am happy for everyone for whom it is not a problem. That also gives hope. I've been with Garmin for a long time and I've always been very happy with them. Until this problem
    Enjoy the meal.

  • I have responded to comments before with a screenshot showing my HR over 100 when walking and not recording an activity. But that apparently was not good enough.

I never said it never is accurate outside of activity. For me the inconsistency is killing the enjoyment of my watch. Sometimes it’s fine, an hour later it’s rubbish. And trust me, I have owned a lot of other watches and activity bands these last few years. F6 (and FR945 before this one) have the worst HR sensor of them all, at least right until you start an activity profile.
