While waiting to pick up my Solars, owners please share my 2 concerns:
- why you' ve decided to take Solar over Sapphire version?
- any scratch on your Power glass already, how sensitive is glass from your point of view?
Thank you

hi,
I have as well a 5X plus sapphire, steel.
why I choose the Solar?
- because of the look, the anti-reflex glass looks much better in any light conditions.
- because of the titanium + carbon like DLC…
I don't regret getting the 6x Pro Solar! Great watch, no scratches on the glass and same here. I have hit a few times and there are no scratches on the glass. I actually used it, while riding my mountain…
Just picked up my Solar this morning, few hours setting up, downloading maps and music. Deciding till last moment between Sapphire and Solar and currently absolutely no regret for my choice. Updated my…
Hi Robert,
you wrote “during activity this field will show battery level and discharge rate alternatively.”
Were can I find this setting? I only found battery level and time alternatively.
Thanks

From the Garmin FAQa:
”Can I use a screen protector with the fenix 6X Pro Solar?
Garmin does not recommend the use any kind screen protector, as it will reduce the solar intensity received by the Power Glass lens.”
Sorry, again a question: where/how do I find the discharge graph in connect?
Thanks a lot Robert. Have I to enable percentage and discharge rate somewhere in gcm? Can’t find it/values are not shown???
Thanks, same settings for me. Strange; will later have a deeper look on that.

Hi,
any updates on this topic? Especially from you, Solar owners, about scratches? Solars are only coming to Czechia in like 3 weeks so I would like to encourage my waiting (Sapphire is available already) with some positive updates... Scratches are the only thing I am afraid of, and to be honest on both screen and bezel.
Currenty on D2 Charlie with Titanium DLC bezel - just little marks on the silver part without DLC, the grey one is ok, sapphire of course like new....
Regardless of version of Gorilla Glass phones I’ve owned I’ve always ended up with light scratches on them. Nothing that makes the phone unusable of course.
in the month that I had my Fenix 6x Sapphire I knocked it pretty hard a few times while opening and moving through doors. I was more so worried that I was going to shatter the Sapphire glass than scratching it.
So I guess there are trade offs regardless of which you go with. Gorilla scratches easier (but is still not easy to scratch) and Sapphire is pretty much scratch resistant (though it can still happen) and is more prone to shattering if you knock it just right.
