New R10 is Not Reading at All (New System Software Available - See Update)

I just received my R10 and it will not register any shots.  I used Garmin Express to make sure it was updated. I deleted the Garmin app on my IOS device and reinstalled it.  My setup is just as it is suppose to be according to the instructions.  It still will not register a shot.

I installed the E6 software and tried a practice session there.  It connects and says “ready”.  Once I hit it says “calculating”.  It then says “Error! Check if device is connected”. Then it connects again and says “Ready”.

I have contacted support and they are looking into it.

Does anyone have a similar issue or a suggestion?

Thanks

  • Ummmm. That's an understatement Sweat smile

  • I believe the 6np like mine are completely broken without the proper software

  • Funny thing is, mine worked at first.

Had it delivered, updated it and took it to the range and it worked fine. Next day took it to the range again and no shots where showing on the app and hasn’t worked since.

really frustrating after waiting months to get it.

  • I found that if my iPhone behind the r10 the iphone golf app would report lost connection . Placing phone to the view face on of swing  never lost connection.

  • Ideally you would place your phone on your bag mount to front of yourself as you address the ball. Or place your iPad in front of you. So the Garmin is to your side. So technically it should work wherever the phone is within Bluetooth range.

  • Tried this in the hope it would work but still no shots being picked up. Glad yours is working for you.

  • Yeah you're one of the lucky ones that didn't get a defective unit. The issue for me at least is that the R10 will completely reset when it detects anything resembling a backswing, it will go solid green then flash blue and finally go back to flashing white. I've tried it indoors and outdoors and with steel and graphite clubs. I have made it work only by doing a happy gilmore swing, no addressing the ball, no backswing just swing at the ball, but if the r10 detects the club going up at any time it will reset, so it's basically useless.

  • Just to more or less repeat what I posted on a separate thread: I am fine if I set up in my office. Green remains flashing for several minutes. But as soon as I set it up anywhere that I can play a shot ie the range, I struggle to get a flashing green, and if I do and then take a shot, then it doesn't record and the led goes flashing blue, or white or some other random combination of colours, flashing or not flashing.  My serial number starts 6PP. At least I know I'm not the only one!  Prior to this I did have a struggle connecting the app to the device, but once I had defined the device in Garmin Express it worked OK.

  • How can you release a product and or the software in such a miserable way?!

Tried to contact German support as the product was purchased here, they have no clue what is going on! I expect immediate response and solution!

we are your customers and not your product development people.

    was expecting more from Garmin

Lol. Now my computer won’t even open the Garmin Express to check if there is any software updates.
