I have been using the R10 for a couple days now and my distances seems way off. Seems very club is approx 20yards short from the range? Is there anything that needs to be done with calibration?

I'm a new owner couple days. Every club is ridiculously short. On real course I bomb 250 on bad hits....I struggle to get 180yds reading. All the irons seem like they are read like an 8I. Can't get…
Similiar problem for me, been using for a couple of days and all clubs are only recording 2/3 distance, checked the setup with a tape measure and spirit level and still the same problem. I have tried inside…
I want to love this thing had such high hopes and as is has become an enormous let down.
Yeah - like in the real world - I like E6 because of that behavior but I see your point.
I will try Awesome Golf as well - thanks for the tip.
But back to the main question:
Do you have trouble with the distances on Garmin Golf App as well?
Yes, this has never, and likely never will be resolved by Garmin
But why?!? It is crazzy how accurate the R10 is when it comes to swingspeed...
Personally and I have no scientific data to go by, I think it does not acquire enough Ball flight data when hitting into a net, or indoors(background reflexions). I have tried R10 outdoors on range and it looks very close to reality. Accept it, that is the way it is and Garmin can't change it
Im having the same problem. All of my distances are 30yds - 50 Yds short the new update is not fixing my issues. Has anyone found a resolution?
Hello, @Garmin-Rob I am wondering if you are still seeing these issues? My driver is launching at 3 degrees or less and every now and then - maybe 1 out of 20 it’s accurately showing closer to 10-11 degrees of launch. Any tips? I’ve tried all the things from adjusting distance from Garmin to ball, ball to net, height and tilt of Garmin, etc. I have a back patio and net setup.
Hello,
the issue is still existing inside the Garmin app.
Currently I hit driver 250m and I use a Trackman/Mevo Plus as reference to that.
When I am using the Garmin R10 in combination with Garmin Golf App (Range Mode) -> I will be significantly shorter (~ 20 meters short).
When I am using the same setup - but with E6 app and Range Mode there -> The distances are correct (or the same to Trackman and Mevo Plus).
I worte Garmin about that topic and they told me that they are aware of that problem and that they can see the problem inside of my data (that I provided to them - data export from Garmin Golf app).
All together, I think the R10 device is outstanding accuracte - but the Garmin Golf app is a little bit to strikt when it comes to calculatet values like carry and total distance. I do not belive that they wil fix it - especialy because they have released the new R50 launch monitor.
If GARMIN wanted to fix this issue they would have by now, an algorithm change with a "Hitting into net", or "Indoor" toggle switch. But they don't and they will not for $600.00 US
To be clear - all my test are made on a range without a net. I got distance problems with the GARMIN app on a driving range without a net.

The below factors have been added to how the Approach R10 factors ball spin with software version 3.80 or newer. For help updating your Software, see Installing the Latest Updates for Your Approach R10.
Note that when at the range, spin and other shot performance metrics will vary depending on the condition/type of golf being used.
When using Practice/Home Tee Hero modes within the Garmin Golf app, the other factors that are variable include the "Weather Conditions" setting to enable weather conditions based on current location...or if using custom settings for altitude, relative humidity, and temperature that are user adjustable.
The software within the Garmin Golf app is specific to Garmin in how the shots are recorded via the combination of radar and algorithm factors. Other platforms receiving the information from the R10 have their own factors that use the information gathered from the R10 to provide information from each shot.
It is important to consider the affects on the shot measurement based on the settings for home conditions in Practice or Home Tee Hero modes...along with the ball type...indoor vs outdoor calculation...affect of metrics when hitting from the rough/bunker/fairway lie programmed in the software to get more insight into the calculation given within the Garmin Golf app for the R10.
