EDGE MapFields

Edge Mapfields is meant for use with the mapscreen on your device.
There are 4 fields, which every field can set with many options (see below).
It's created for Edge 1030, 1040, 530 and 830, 540 and 840.

After installing the datafield on your device, place a full-width field under the map. In this field you put the EdgeMapsFields.

In the setup you can choose a display for each quadrant from 14 different options:

-Speed
-average Speed
-Cadence
-average Cadence
-Timer
-Distance
-Heartrate
-average Heartrate
-Power 3s
-average Power
-Distance to Destination
-Time to Destination
-total Ascent
-Altitude
-Grade
-Clock
-Edge Battery
-Varia Battery
-GPS Signal
-Gear Shift
-ETA estimated time of arrival
-NP normalized Power - Garmin style
-NP normalized power without zero Watt counting

Both metric and statute format!

Time to Destination is calculated by your average speed. In the beginning - when no average speed is available - Time to Dest. is calculated by 10 km/h ( 6.214 mi/h).

Timer format is mm:ss for time less than one hour, and h:mm for time more than one hour.

Of course you can use this datafield on every screen with a datafield of 1/5 of the screen height and full width.

Note: the pictures below are photoshoped to show all options on one picture.
You can only set one datafield on your device!

Since I only have Edge 1030 devices, I would be very grateful if you could send me screenshots of the other devices, since I can only see them in the simulator.

I've looked at my code and realized - it's not to much work to enable the datafield for half width for devices 1030 & 1040 series.

So, I ask: is that what you wanted?

That would be epic ! That's exactly what I was looking for.
I just had a very simple version of that (as seen in simulator screenshot below), with top: speed, cadence and bottom: 3s power and HR.
Was planning on making a 2nd version with distance, time, gradient and altitude.
I like you layout just a lot better, and would love it if you could publish it. Would be nice to be able to have different values in both left and right datafield though :)

I am loving your data field and am also using it in a 7B layout on my 1030. That way it takes up the bottom half of the screen. My problem is as follows. I have a varia Radar and really love the way your data field lets you know the approaching speed from behind. However, there appears to be a bug getting it to work every time. If it works when you start off, all is good, but usually it doesn’t. But by pausing the ride, then turning the Garmin off and on again, and resuming the ride, it works.

Do you mean that radar speed show does not work consistently?

It works every second time that I boot up my Garmin edge 1030.

I use this datafield and never experienced that behaviour, nor have I ever heard from other users.
It seems to be a problem with the connection of your Varia and your Edge.

Check if there is a little orange dot at the crossing lines (see picture). This dot shows, that your Edge has recognised the Varia. No spot means no connection.

Just one hint: although I use radar only with my Varia, I let it connect as radar and light network.

The Varia works fine. Yes with the dots and works perfectly with “My Bike Radar” data field.

It should work with just the radar connected. This isn’t likely to be the source of the problem. As far as ANT+ knows, the Varia is two devices.

This data field was perfect - used it in half width field for a while in 530 - but after recent release it stopped working - asking for full width - any option to return back possibility like was before?
