With introduction of Garmin Pay, I am starting to add a new payment option for some of my apps. The system is not flexible enough to just add Garmin Pay to existing apps, so I'll publish a copy of an app, with the same functionality but Garmin Pay as the payment provider.

The idea for this app is simple:
- Use only large fonts, so that all data are visible at a glance (hence the name of the app: Glance )
- Put as much data on the screen as possible, without sacrificing font size above
- Make all data fields customizeable to your needs
- Make colors customizeable as much as possible, so users can create their own design

I put 3 watches on one hand: AMOLED, MIP, LCD (Instinct Crossover). All 3 worked identically. Every time.

Stand in front of a mirror and do the gesture. Describe here what you see (pay attention to watch's backlight) at each stage.

There is only a gesture for backlight. I enabled backlight for normal use outside activities. I moved the watch towards me, backlight on. Back, backlight off, towards me again backlight on. So that works and my motions were correct. Second screen also worked. Disabled backlight again (only enabled during activities after sunset), second screen still worked. Only difference between now and earlier the day: I'm not wearing the HRM Pro Plus anymore. I don't know if that has any effect. I mean, the firmware has enough bugs. There are even problems with the battery level. Watchfaces show 31%, menu shows 31%. Plugged to my PC, 31%. Unplug it, 31%. Plug it to a charger, 35%. Now I know why I see the same level for several hours after an activity.

There are all kinds of bugs in the Garmin firmware. Don't get me started.

Again that gesture thing stopped working. One hour ago it worked fine, now after sitting for a while at the desk it doesn't work anymore. After switching to a widget and back it works again. Is there some kind of energy saving mode in my watch? All I know is that the activity settings have an option for time until standby. I use a longer time until standby. But for the normal watch mode I couldn't find anything.

Just to clarify - we are talking about the Garmin gesture feature, not the app's screen switch.

Garmin gesture can also be disabled during the sleep - check that setting too. But in general, try contacting Garmin support - it is a Garmin feature after all.

No, DND wasn't enabled. There are no other settings except of backlight. I also noticed that sometimes the switch has a delay. I don't know what the watch is doing then. Busy with other things.

I'd love to help, but this is completelly Garmin's functionality, not app's. Please contact Garmin support about it.

If you have MIP/non-OLED device there's no need to save energy out of the display.... anyhow what I do at nights (since I wear my Fenix 7 24h 7/7) is the following:

- sleep mode is scheduled to run from 00:00 to 08:00am

- watch face is set, during this time, to "Rest"

- retroillumination to 5% (not for consumption rather not to disturb if I want to watch the time)

- touch-screen is OFF (so it overrides my daily configuration, that's ON, except when I run that goes OFF)

- DND/Do Not Disturb is set to ON [>> in the other specific DND configuration I set it: Smart Notification OFF, Alarms OFF, Wrist movement OFF]

- Battery Saver is set to ON [>> in the other specific battery saver config I set it: Display, low power; Music, disabled; Telephone, Disconnect; WiFi, Disconnect; Cardio/HR, no changes (I want it stays always ON otherwise the parameters are NOT taking while you sleep !), PulsoOX, disabled (I never use it), Retroillumiation, Disabled.

NOW: Garmin devices are complex and super complete beasts. They do everything...just need to study a bit. Youtube and Google are your friends....

This Watch Face does the rest :-) I'm using now Big EASY completed by Universal App from this same developert (huge THANK YOU !)

Well, the FR245 doesn't have all these features. Sleep mode / DND is set 00:00-08:00. I can receive notofications but they don't vibrate and backlight stays off.

Wow. This is nice. Good job!

A couple of requests/suggestions if you don't mind:

1. Option for smaller font size for the datafields. When you get into higher step counts the text becomes too big for the space.

2. Option to set left/right bar to notifications. Bar changes to set color when there's a notification. Some developers have done that with outer rings so idk if that's possible here.
