Hello. I will soon release a new version that includes the new design and supports more watches.
Yeah, that's sad. I really wish for Garmin to get back on the tracks.
Don't worry, I will support the Fenix 7 series. I'm even thinking about buying one for myself to replace my old Fenix 3. Even if…
Hi,
Thanks for the update - we appreciate your work!
Sadly... the touch issue is still present (at least on my FR265 v21.22).
So I updated the app, confirmed as it now has the warmup option, but even with touchscreen off the app still responds to touch. However this time the touches/swipes are slightly different than before...
I hope that helps. I'm still using the app weekly and it still works great. Just wanted to keep you updated on how various devices load the app
Also off-topic, I don't suppose you have any interest in Pickleball? There are NO good scorekeeping apps for pickleball singles matches and I think you'd have a very good foundation for an app based on this badminton app.
Hello. It seems you missed my previous message. Here it is again, as this forum can make it difficult to track conversations:
Hi,
You are right. The app is responding to touch events even when it shouldn't. Unfortunately, I haven't found a way in the SDK to detect the device's touch-enabled state. It seems this setting should ideally work regardless of the app's specific actions, but there is an open issue about this here: forums.garmin.com/.../disabling-touch-screen-for-apps-in-system-settings-does-not-disable-touch-screen-for-all-apps.
Regarding the development of a pickleball app, I am not interested in developing a new application. The Garmin ecosystem remains problematic, plagued by bugs and seemingly driven by marketing priorities over sound engineering. For a more detailed explanation of my concerns, please see this issue on the app's GitHub repository: https://github.com/matco/badminton/issues/22. Unfortunately, Garmin's platform hasn't shown significant improvement since 2021.
I used it today.
After the first match after the warm-up round, the summary on the watch shows the elapsed time of the match plus the warm-up round.
When trying to end the play session after a finished match on the score page (in endless mode), I didn’t see an option to end the app and save the activity. I had to start a new match before I could exit, which resulted in an inelegant additional 4-second match in the statistics.
It might be a nice idea to show the maximum heart rate alongside the current one during the warm-up phase or match.
I just released version 4.9.0: it excludes the warmup time from the first set, among other things.
You can use the menu to end a match, anytime (in the match view, or in the set result view).
Thank you. You are right about the menu button, I always forget how to use it if I didn't play for a while and was ending it with the menu that opens by pressing start during the match but advances to the next match on the results screen.
Minor cosmetic issue: the German word "Doppel" is cut off on the left side of the "D" same for the word "Gegner" which is cut off on both sides.
