Overview of Connect IQ Apps accompanied with source code

Oh sorry I was only posting from the perspective of memory consumption and code size. If I had to guess I'd say direct DC calls can't really be less efficient than using a CIQ layout, in the best case (when you write the code as efficiently as possible), since CIQ layouts would translate to direct DC calls anyway.

But the overhead is layouts have to handle anything while direct dc calls can do only what they need.

Is there any collection of monkey barrels that are public?  I only see the Garmin ones github.com/.../barrels and

I have a new one.  Its rejected from the app store as garmin say

"No user should be looking at their watch while operating a car, motorcycle or other vehicle.  This practice is inherently distracting and brings a safety concern for our users."

(Its for a handheld. . . which has automotive modes and mapping).  Feel free to compile and sideload if anyone wants.

Its pretty shoddy code I am sure but other beginners might find it useful.  I am not a programmer, just someone who mashes things together when I have a particular need/want to fill.

Its a horizontal speedo app for the GPSMAP 66 series (specifically 66SR).  Designed to allow huge display and to override the 1 frame per second refresh limit of the Garmin GPS.  Button pushes allow control of day/night, backlight on/off, selection of 3 speed ranges, trip 1 & 2 reset and FPS adjust between 2&10 FPS.

I started trying to use activities for speed and distance but this wasn't viable.  It now just uses toybox.position for speed and position and it calculates distance travelled between each sample for the ODO and trips.  The app ODO, Trips, Day/night mode and last position are stored on quit.

I intend to use it in vehicles (a van and a ZX9R) alongside a navigation 276cx and its intended to be an alternative to buying a secondary (GPS) vehicle speedo.

3 simple games, including Flappy Bird (It's the only one I've tested on the simulator, it works).

The source code is clean and easy to read (and learn). This guy has even some unit tests! ;-)

It's a small app that remembers the status of the battery, shows a graph and estimates how long it might last if the discharge is similar like in the past x minutes/hours
