Hi guys, any of you ever had your watches lock (blank screen, HRM on, no reset/reboot/shutdown, etc) after trying to deploy an app through eclipse?
I have no idea how to fix this, and the issue is on a Fenix Chronos...
any tips?
I have a vague recollection from way way back of having to do a hard rest while the device was plugged into the charging cradle and connected to the PC in order for it to actually recover from the crash that I was causing. I think it was a Fenix 3 that had this issue. It's a long shot but would only cost you 25 more seconds to try.
The 25+ second hold is definitely the hardware override that shuts down no matter what the software is doing, so unfortunately it sounds like there is something wrong with this device beyond a software lock up. The leading theory in these cases is usually a faulty key.
You are correct that Product Support will probably just ask you to send the device in to be replaced (after asking you to do all the things you have already tried). I'm sorry I can't provide any more options to try recovering the device. If you purchased the device at a local store, you may be able to exchange it there more quickly than Garmin Product Support can. I know support can usually send out a new device immediately with some sort of hold on your CC while you ship the other one back to speed up the process if desired.
