Sync problems: Training calendar runs don't show up, workouts don't sync at all

For the past few weeks I've been unable to get my training plan from Garmin Connect to show up correctly on my Forerunner 235. When I navigate on the watch to "Training Calendar", it says to download your training calendar from Garmin Connect. I've tried this a gazillion times. I've wiped the entire watch back to factory settings multiple times, I've canceled and deleted my training plans and restarted with a different plan... without fail, none of the workouts show up in the training calendar on the watch. They are, however, hiding in the workouts section.

I've also discovered that new workouts that I make online with Garmin Connect aren't being synced. I've specifically gone into the app, selected the individual workout, sent it to the device, and Garmin Connect says it worked, the watch shows a transfer successfully finishes... no new workouts.

Anyone else having similar issues? And any idea how to fix it? I'm getting frustrated, the calendar view on the watch is key to keeping me on track.
  • It happens the exact same thing to me on my forerunner 235. Im tired cause i dont know what to do next.

  • I am also having the same issue. It used to worked earlier but since last week it has not worked. Garmin team, please resolve it quickly as it is impacting training schedule for many of us.

  • Following-same issue on 735xt. Any thoughts to restoring the functionality of TP Daily Workout CIQ app? Timeline for resolution?

  • the calendar refuses to sync again, please fix!

  • Hi Blake, when this will be fixed?

    more than 30 days?

    thx.

  • It seems to be taking a long time. Is there any hope this will be fixed soon? It's very annoying.

  • This is happening to me as well on my Forerunner 220. I have tried downloading my calendar training plan workouts through my macbook and iphone. When I get to the calendar section and click the top right three dots, I don't see the usual "send to my device" message. Instead it says "view compatible devices" and then takes me a to a screen that shows that my watch is connected and other useless information. I've never had this issue before in all my years of using this feature. I called Garmin support but was told (after a long time of them trying to understand my problem) that I need to hang tight and that other people are dealing with it too - very helpful. I was not told a timeline, however. This is very disappointing as this is one of the main reasons people spend a lot of money on these watches.

  • I have the exact same issue on Garmin 735xt. Factory reset of the watch and reinstall of the app didn't help. The planned workouts in the calendar are being downloaded and appear under "My Workouts", but the calendar just shows the "Download you training calendar from Garmin Connect" message...

Considering that Garmin just released the new calendar APIs that allow automatic sync with Training Peaks and other training platforms, which is supposed to replace the Training Peaks Daily Workout app, it's very disappointing to see that Garmin is (again) letting us down with this unreliable calendar feature...

  • I have the same issue on my Garmin 230.  It would be nice if we could at least manually download the training calendar to our watches while waiting for a fix.  My workouts are being updated on the watch, I did have to go in and clean out some of the older workouts so that I could find them more easily.
