text message notifications not coming through after iOS 13 update

Just updated my software to iOS 13.0 and now my FR635 will not alert me of text notifications. When I receive a text my FR635 does not buzz or even show that I have a notification. When I receive notifications from other apps (twitter, groupme, etc) my FR635 will not buzz but with show them on my notifications widget. The only thing my FR635 will do still is buzz for incoming calls. 

I saw other people with similar problems and tried going to settings -> notifications -> connect -> show previews -> always, but this did nothing for me. I still do not get notifications for texts at all or any vibrations for all other notifications (besides phone calls). I have phone notification alerts set to vibration for both during an activity and not during an activity through the Garmin app.

    No!!! It’s a source of anger for me everyday! I keep looking at my wrist when my phone receives a message. I’ve taken my watch off because it’s so frustrating. It was a big purchase for me and I can’t use it for what I want.

    Harmon should do a recall because it doesn’t do what it advertises. Has anyone rung consumer affairs?

    I’m having the same issue with my Venu.  I matched all of my settings with my friends app/phone.  Only difference we have is I have the newest iPhone/update, otherwise all settings are the same.

    Hey there. I was having the same problems but I got it right. Please try what I did on my phone. Maybe it might help you too. Go to settings, Do not disturb, Schedules, turn schedule to ‘’ON” that helped me.

    Hi, is there anybody who have fixed the message issue on Fenix 5X after the IOS13 release? 

    If so please tell me how to fix it. 

    I see that several users have had the same problem but fixed it with other Garmin models than the Fenix 5X.

    I am with an Android phone and I have garmin vivoactive watch for less then a week. Initially the text notification worked and after the watch did some update texts stop showing on my watch. I am not sure how to fix it. The way you are explaining is that the settings on the phone or the watch, or the app. Thanks

    This is not a solution.. it’s a workaround..Garmin still needs to fix this!!
