text message notifications not coming through after iOS 13 update

Just updated my software to iOS 13.0 and now my FR635 will not alert me of text notifications. When I receive a text my FR635 does not buzz or even show that I have a notification. When I receive notifications from other apps (twitter, groupme, etc) my FR635 will not buzz but with show them on my notifications widget. The only thing my FR635 will do still is buzz for incoming calls. 

I saw other people with similar problems and tried going to settings -> notifications -> connect -> show previews -> always, but this did nothing for me. I still do not get notifications for texts at all or any vibrations for all other notifications (besides phone calls). I have phone notification alerts set to vibration for both during an activity and not during an activity through the Garmin app.

    Did you try the above fix? It seems like it was an IOS thing that shut the previews off  

    settings>notifications>messages is the setting "show previews".

    Thanks. That worked. I just kept it off until now because I didn’t want the previews showing on my phone screen. I set the settings to show while unlocked.

    I have tried that multiple times with rebooting etc and I still don’t get text notifications Cry

    This does not work for me. All of my notification settings, in messages and the connect app, are set to show previews Always. I still am not getting text notifications and NO notification buzzes my watch anymore.

    I have the same issue. If there is a fix to revert back to it actually working, I’d love to

    know.

    Hi - can you confirm if this is the ultimate "fix"? It seems to be more of a workaround to me. I've never had message previews on before, and would prefer not to have them on and still be able to receive SMS notifications.

    Okay everyone. I figured it out and I know what everyone else has been running in to. You all, like me, have been editing the settings in settings>>notifications>>show preview.  When in actuality you need to go to settings>>notifications>>MESSAGES>>show preview. Change this to something besides “Never”.   Hope this helps. It worked for me on my Fenix 3.

    It worked for me finally! On an IPhone you have to go to Settings- then Notifications- Messages- Show previews, then click always. It fixed it for me! Hope this helps everyone!

    This worked for my Fenix 5X. Thanks!

    Probably the only place that I didn't look as I assumed that this wouldn't be the issue because I was getting SMS notifications on my phone.
